What is Anorectal Malformation ? 

During early development of a baby in the womb, the urinary tract, the reproductive tract and the digestive tract all exit the pelvis through a common opening. Normally, separation of these structures occurs. In females there is complete separation of the three systems so that the urinary tract opening is farthest forward (the urethra), the reproductive tract exits in the middle (the vagina) and the digestive tract exits farthest back (the anus). In males the urinary tract and the reproductive tract exit through a single opening (the male urethra) in front, while the digestive tract exits through the anus. An anorectal malformation is a condition in which the rectum fails to separate properly during development and does not migrate into its proper position on the perineum. The anus and rectum lie in front of their normal location and are not located properly in the sphincter muscles of the pelvis. Anorectal malformations occur as a spectrum of abnormalities that ranges from very mild conditions in which the anus is situated only a few millimeters in front of its normal location, to severe anomalies with no visible anus. In the more severe abnormalities, there may be an abnormal emptying of rectum into the genitourinary tract, and associated malformations of the spine, genitalia, and kidneys.

Diagnosis of Anorectal Malformation

Anorectal malformations occur in both boys and girls. The diagnosis of an anorectal malformation can usually be made by inspection. When the baby is examined, the anus is absent or abnormally positioned. Ultrasound and x-ray tests may be used to help in the diagnosis. Additional tests will be obtained to look for associated abnormalities. Spine x-rays, kidney and spinal cord ultrasound, and occasionally echocardiography are all routine tests obtained in patients with anorectal malformations.

Treatment of Anorectal Malformation

The nature and severity of the anorectal malformation, as well as the presence of any associated conditions will determine the surgical treatment that is required. Some patients may be treated with a single operation as a newborn, while others will require operations in several stages. For patients with relatively minor abnormalities, a small procedure such as a cut back anoplasty may be all that is required prior to going home. For other patients, initial treatment consists of a colostomy and reconstruction is performed at a later date. A second operation is performed that separates the abnormal communication with the genito-urinary tract, and properly relocates the rectum within the sphincter muscles in the pelvis. Depending on the type of abnormality present, children may have this operation performed utilizing minimally invasive surgical techniques. Alternatively, a PSARP (posterior saggital anorectoplasty) procedure may be performed. Several months after definitive surgery, the colostomy is taken down, re-establishing gastrointestinal tract continuity

Follow Up of Anorectal Malformation

Following reconstruction, patients born with anorectal malformations must be followed frequently by their pediatric surgeons. For the more severe abnormalities, long-term continence issues are the major reasons for follow-up, while in the more mild conditions, patients and their families must work to insure that worsening constipation does not lead to poor continence. Many patients must be managed with bowel program designed to promote regular evacuations of the rectum to avoid ongoing soiling from chronic fecal retention. With attentive management, and rigorous compliance with prescribed regimens, most patients achieve social continence. Many patients will have normal continence. The Pediatric Surgeons of IAPS (Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons) treat patients with anorectal malformations and provide long-term follow-up and management for patients and their families.

Odwiedzaliśmy jedynie 'legalne', koncesjonowane przez państwo zakłady, gdzie normy pracy są "oficjalne".

I właśnie te oficjalne zakłady zrobiły na mnie piorunujące wrażenie, no bo jeśli widzi się ludzi na bosaka, bez rękawic, okularów, masek, wlewających ciekły metal w przygotowane wcześniej formy to włos się jeży na głowie (zdjęcia poniżej). Jedna pomyłka oznacza w wielu przypadkach stratę ręki, nogi, a i nawet jak ktoś się nigdy nie pomylił to 8 godzin dziennie w tamtych oparach skraca tym ludziom dość szybko życie. I to są zakłady legalne .... bo tylko z takich korzysta nasza firma , ale nasz szef nie ukrywał że obok nich, praktycznie w prywatnych 'mieszkaniach' istnieją miejsca gdzie dzieci i kobiety pracują przy tych samych procesach !

Myślę że wizytacje miały spory wpływ na mój odbiór Aligarhu jako całości ......... jeszcze nigdy w życiu nie widziałem tak przepaskudnego miasta. "... Jest tak brudno i brzydko, że aż pękają oczy... " i tak naprawdę ciężko jest mi wyobrazić sobie brzydsze i bardziej syfiaste miasto (wszystko przede mną). Pełno mini wysypisk śmieci, rynsztok w którym płynie toksyczna woda (odlewnie metalu) no i straszliwa bieda. Normalnie prawie jak w teledysku Micheala Jacksona Earth Song = ZGROZA.

 Telescoped into Bhutto’s assassination is an ongoing struggle within Islam that globalisation is bringing to a head. In all probability, Bhutto has dealt with this crisis in her forthcoming book that attempts at reconciling Islam and modernity Benazir Bhutto’s assassination on December 27, 2007 virtually amounts to Pakistan’s 9/11. As the country was rattled by shock, disbelief and outrage, Baitullah Mehsud, Al Qaeda’s chief in Pakistan, and a cleric in Waziristan were congratulating each other on Bhutto’s killing, as indicated by the transcript of a telephonic conversation between the two released by the government on Friday.The terrorists had every reason to be jubilant: they had silenced the one voice that consistently warned of the grave danger religious extremism posed to Pakistan’s viability as a modern democratic state. Indeed, the struggle for democracy for Bhutto was inseparable from reclaiming the ‘real Pakistan’ from the encroachments of religious extremists. This had become clear from the moment of her return after 8 years of exile on October 18, 2007. Overwhelmed by the rapturous welcome of her People’s Party supporters at Karachi airport, she declared, “This is the real Pakistan...not the militants, nor the military...we are giving voice to the moderates that don’t want to see this country taken over by terrorists”. However, the festive mood of the welcoming crowd reflected only one face of the ‘real Pakistan’ — the pluralism of devotional Sufism factored into mass politics. Another face was Jinnah’s mausoleum symbolising the founding father’s modernist vision, where her procession was headed but never made it because of the suicide bombing. The disruption of her rally simply mirrored Pakistan’s reality: a rudderless society held hostage by religious extremism. In such a milieu, her assassination was a story foretold.Even so, blaming President Musharraf or a security lapse for the assassination would miss the larger picture. As noted in a Daily Times news analysis (“Who killed Benazir Bhutto?” December 29, 2007) Bhutto’s assassination also needs to be seen as part of the crisis of globalisation — where the free flow of capital, technology and information is changing the way people think and live and creating tensions between tradition and modernity — of which the bombings of girls’ schools in Swat and Waziristan is one example.

Dell began offering consumer systems running Ubuntu in May 2007. Ubuntu’s Gutsy Gibson has been available on laptops since October.

The OEM and laptop testing teams of Dell have been testing the code and hardware drivers for several weeks and are ready to launch the Ubuntu 7.10 Laptop based on the free and open source Ubuntu Linux operating system.

“We believe Ubuntu 7.10 is a solid step forward <span style="font-weight:bold;">for both Linux enthusiasts as well as the mainstream consumer market</span>,” wrote Daniel Judd, Product Group Strategist on the Dell2Dell blog on Tuesday. “The answer is simple. With any operating system, we take gold code and take the time to do extensive testing on our systems to make sure that customers have as few issues as possible.”

Daniel Judd, Dell product manager has cited “cool” 3-D visual effects, easier desktop search for applications and the “ability to quickly switch between users and easily share a system with family members” as key new features of Ubuntu’s 7.10 release. He has also cited two minor Dell developed innovations much in demand by younger generation of laptop users — pre-installation of Flash and improved recovery options — as other significant enhancements for Gutsy Gibbon on Dell consumer PCs.

Judd also one key request was the ability to watch DVD movies from the Dell Linux desktop. “We totally agree and that’s why we now include built-in DVD movie playback with all Ubuntu 7.10 systems.The experience we wanted is simple — when you put a movie in, it plays. It is easy enough for a child and an example of the steps we are taking to make Ubuntu as enjoyable as possible.

For after all if children can install Ubuntu from CD by themselves, so can customers. And then maybe finally the staff of the hardware vendors will also learn how to install Ubuntu.

Many children of course prefer Kubuntu Desktop version because the KDE desktop is better to look at for those who only know how to send emails and chat on the Internet.

And last, the computer dealers will themselves shyly one afternoon decide to learn it themselves.

The BSNL Broadband connection costs only Rs 250/- per month and because it is an ADSL connection you can also use the telephone connection on the same phone line. You just need to phone up the BSNL Broadband support and ask them to give you the BSNL LAN details. Usually they are very helpful and will give you : Gateway Address, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS - All very simple - Just note down on piece of paper
The ADSL modem that they give like Sterlite which is a Chinese modem works very well with Ubuntu Linux in Kanpur Lucknow and all of Uttar Pradesh and no separate drivers are required. Just connect the Ethernet and phone lines to the modem. Connect the Ethernet cable to your AMD or Intel motherboard Ethernet port. A green and yellow light comes on if you see the back of your computer or laptop.

What next ? Once your Ubuntu or Kubuntu is installed from your ISO CD go to Applications - Accessories - Terminal and log in as root user. In Ubuntu root user is sudo

Type in the following in your shell - GNOME desktop shell also called GNOME Terminal :

sudo ppoeconf - Then enter the username that BSNL gave you. Next enter the password. Keep all the default settings regarding

Nowadays most computer dealers will give you a Ubuntu or Kubuntu CD for just Rs 100 and you can install everything yourself. To install printer, keep the printer on while installing your Ubuntu.

நகரில் 8 போலீஸ் நிலையங்களுக்கு உள்பட்ட பகுதிகளில் காலவரையற்ற ஊரடங்கு அமல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

நஷ்டஈடு: வன்முறை சம்பவத்தில் இறந்தோர் குடும்பத்துக்கு ஒரு லட்ச ரூபாயும், படுகாயமடைந்தோருக்கு தலா ரூ.25 ஆயிரமும் நஷ்டஈடு வழங்கப்படும் என்று மாநில அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.

"விபத்தில் நான்கு இளைஞர்கள் இறந்த சம்பவத்துக்கு போக்குவரத்து நிர்வாக குறைபாடே காரணம். கனரக வாகனங்கள் செல்ல தடைவிதிக்கப்பட்ட பகுதியில் குறிப்பிட்ட லாரி வந்து விபத்து ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இது தொடர்பாக விசாரணைக்கு உத்தரவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. குற்றவாளிகள் தண்டிக்கப்படுவர்' என்று உள்துறை உயரதிகாரி ஜே.என்.சேம்பர் லக்னௌவில் நிருபர்களிடம் தெரிவித்தார்.

Hamid Ansari: a diplomat, an academic and a writer

New Delhi, July. 20 (PTI): Mohammad Hamid Ansari, who was today named the UPA-Left candidate for the post of Vice President, brings with him a wealth of experience as a distinguished diplomat, academic and a writer in a career spanning over four decades.

Considered an intellectual with Left-of-the-Centre inclination, Ansari has carved out a distinct place for himself as a diplomat, academician and a writer specialising in international issues.

Born in Calcutta in 1937, Ansari studied at Shimla's St Edwards High School and St Xavier's College in the West Bengal capital and Aligarh Muslim University.

Joining the Indian Foreign Service in 1961, Ansari has served as Indian ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

He was also the Indian High Commissioner to Australia and New Delhi's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.

Awarded Padma Shree in 1984, Ansari was the Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University before he was appointed chairman of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) in March this year.

ஹமீத் அன்சாரியும் நஜ்மா ஹெப்துல்லாவும் இரண்டு மரியாதைக்குரிய சுதந்திரப் போராட்டகாலத் தலைவர்களின் வாரிசுகள். ஹமீத் அன்சாரி, 1927-ல் சென்னையில் நடந்த வரலாற்றுப் புகழ்பெற்ற அகில இந்திய காங்கிரஸ் மாநாட்டுக்குத் தலைமை வகித்த முக்தர் அஹ்மத் அன்சாரியின் குடும்பத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர். நஜ்மா ஹெப்துல்லாவோ அபுல்கலாம் ஆசாதின் குடும்பத்தவர்.

நஜ்மா ஹெப்துல்லாவுக்கு பல ஆண்டுகள் மாநிலங்களவையை நடத்திய அனுபவம் உண்டு என்பது உண்மை. மாநிலங்களவையில் துணைத் தலைவராகச் செயல்பட்டவர் என்கிற பெருமையும், எல்லா கட்சியினரிடமும் நட்புப் பாராட்டுபவர் என்கிற நற்பெயரும் அவருக்கு உண்டு. அதேநேரத்தில், பதவிக்காகக் கட்சி மாறியவர் என்கிற அவப்பெயரை நஜ்மா சுமந்து கொண்டிருப்பதும், பாரதிய ஜனதா கட்சியில் தன்னை இணைத்துக் கொண்டதன் மூலம் ஒரு சந்தர்ப்பவாதி என்ற சாயம் பூசிக் கொண்டவர் என்பதும் அவரது மிகப் பெரிய பலவீனங்கள்.

இந்தியாவின் புதிய குடியரசுத் துணை தலைவர் ஹமீத் அன்சாரி

இந்தியாவின் புதிய குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவராக, ஹமீத் அன்சாரி தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

இந்தியாவின் தூதராக பல நாடுகளில் பணியாற்றிய அனுபவம் பெற்ற அவர், அலிகர் முஸ்லிம் பல்கலைக் கழகத் துணைவேந்தராகவும் இருந்தவர்.

குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவர் தேர்தலுக்கான வாக்குப்பதிவு, நாடாளுமன்ற வளாகத்தில் வெள்ளிக்கிழமை நடைபெற்றது. மாலையில் வாக்குகள் எண்ணப்பட்டு முடிவுகள் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டன.

இந்த வெற்றி குறித்து செய்தியாளர்களிடம் பேசிய ஐக்கிய முற்போக்குக் கூட்டணியின் தலைவர் சோனியா காந்தி, குடியரசுத் தலைவர் தேர்தல் மிகவும் பரபரப்பு நிறைந்ததாக இருந்தது. அதில் ஐக்கிய முற்போக்குக் கூட்டணி வெற்றி பெற்றது. தற்போது இரண்டாவது வெற்றியைப் பெற்றிருக்கிறோம். அதற்காக, கூட்டணிக் கட்சிகளுக்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம் என்றார்.
