The Hyderabad Blogger Meet was no exception... When I read "1 minutes of fame" in the agenda, I thought it would be something akin to "30 seconds of fame" as in AXN!! Well, to my dismay, (and to my happiness too) it turned out to be the ice-breaking session wherein everyone had to fame their blogs (and themselves)!

It's good to notice how everyone of us, despite being so different from each other, have a common platform to share.. Some sophisticated ppl named it blogging!! :)

The auditorium was full of people ranging from studens to business men to recruiters.. it had enthusiasm of the juvenile as well as the experience of the mature... A great combination of ppl from all walks of life with varied interests... From geeks to adoholics, from psychologists to mosquito enthusiasts, everyone had their unique (read interesting) reasons to join the world of blogging .

The comment reading session, wherein they had selected some comments from various blogs and the person owning the blog had to do the IndiBlogger Jig, showed great efforts on their part.. How can we forget Microsoft, for they hosted the meet.. I got to see the huge Microsoft campus and enjoy the ambiance there [as a by-product].

Then there was a session about the Windows Live Writer , a great blogging tool from Microsoft, meant for Windows users (sorry Linux and Mac ppl). Though it seems to be a great piece of software, I still prefer to use the WordPress interface..[Its like giving a flying kiss to your beloved when you can actually do it ;) ]

As the session concluded, everyone had a great experience, which was pretty evident from their faces!! Great work by the team Indiblogger...

Ang batang butoan nagpalahi sa panun sa mga kiat nga bloggers.  Tuara ay, kanang gapula ug sinina nga nagpahipi lang kay mura ug walay kauban.  Pero sa pag-gawas niya after sa salida, nagkakita na ang mga kiat. weeeeeeeeeee!

On my arrival sa SM Cinema ug sa pagpadung na namu ug panguli, daghan na kaaung mga pamiliar nga mga tao akong nakita.  Ang drummer nga si Jerros (Shiela And The Insects), ang tigsyaok nga si Budoy (Jr. Kilat), tig hapak nga si Paco(Faspitch), ang manunuwat nga si Insoy (Missing Filemon), ug ang gamhanan ug bangiitang sound engineer ug usa sa mga pinaka respetadong guitarista nga si Puldo/Paul Cañada (Zzubu/ Frank/CDMC).

Ang salida gi human sa kanta nga Sine - Sine sa bandang Missing Filemon.  Ambot ug ngano nga wala man gipakita ang music video nila sa sugo o sa awahi man lang sa salida.  Pero okay ra, at least maka huna-huna sad ta nga if magpadayon ang pilikulang bisaya naanay bagong avenue ang mga bandang bisdak. Film Industry ug Music Industry sa Cebu kay magkasinabot na gyud, pero wala ni sila mag-away ha, pasabot nga kung unsa ang success nga nakuha sa usa ka salida, success sad on the part sa mga artist kay tungod ilang mga kanta ma expose ug taman sa mga audience.

 Akong rating sa salida, erm... 9/10, kay naay mga part nga mura ug nakabati ko ug katugon.  Kato tingali nga part katong puro na mga tabi² nga walay klaro ug cge lang pangutana si monet ug unsay pasabot anang word nga jerjer O kay tungod wala ko librehe ug ma sima-sima ni REI..hekhekhek.

Payter ang gasuot ug color pink nga sinina ;p). Ug miabot dayon si Jerry/Batang Buotan (doubt XD),hehehe, wala lang makadungan namo kay tungod iyang ticket nga napalit sa 7pm slot, ug kami naa sa 9pm slot.  Ga storyahanay ug piktyur ginagmay dayon miuli dayon siya pag padung na namo ug sulod.  Ako unta to nga tawagon si insoy pero busy man ug naay kaistorya.  Sayang kaau kay wala ko ka pa piktyur atong girl pink nga higala ni Rei pag padulong uli (girl in pink ako tawag kay nalimot ko sa iyang pangalan). 

Bisag sa makadiyot lng mi nagkahimamat, lingaw sab siya kay nagkakita mi in person and not in text rah...hehehe.

भेंटवार्ता से एक दिन पहले अंग्रेज़ी के हिन्दुस्तान टाइम्स की अनुपूरक पत्रिका एचटी सिटी(HT City) के मुख्यपृष्ठ पर भेंटवार्ता संबन्धित यह लेख छपा था। हालांकि इसमें पत्रकार/लेखिका से एक त्रुटि हो गई और अंत में वेबसाइट के पते में वो delhi लगाना भूल गई, असल वेबसाइट www.delhibloggers.in है। एनडीटीवी (NDTV) ने इस पूरी भेंटवार्ता को कवर किया था और पत्रकार गरिमा दत्त ने एनडीटीवी (NDTV) की वेबसाइट पर भेंटवार्ता के अगले दिन यह लेख छापा। सिर्फ़ छापे वाले मीडिया में ही नहीं, टेलीविजन पर भी इसकी कवरेज दिखाई गई।

मीडिया में इस कवरेज का लाभ सीधे ही दिखा। जहाँ कई लोग हिन्दुस्तान टाइम्स में पहले दिन छपे लेख के कारण भेंटवार्ता में आए वहीं कुछ लोग बाद में एनडीटीवी (NDTV) पर इसकी कवरेज देख कर समूह से जुड़े और अपने ब्लॉग बनाए। भेंटवार्ता के अगले ही दिन एनडीटीवी (NDTV) पर प्रसारित बर्खा दत्त के We The People कार्यक्रम का मुद्दा भी ब्लॉग ही थे। मतलब साफ़ है, मीडिया भी अब खुले रूप से ब्लॉगों पर ध्यान दे रहा है, और यह अच्छा भी है क्योंकि इससे जल्द ही यह भ्रम(जो कि बहुत लोग पाले हुए हैं) टूटेगा कि ब्लॉग मुख्यधारा मीडिया की जगह ले सकते हैं, दोनों एक दूसरे के सहायक/पूरक हो सकते हैं लेकिन दोनों की अपनी-२ पहचान और स्थान है।

A must-watch movie...Neat movie sans histroinics and Vijaykanth( You could also replace this word with words like Rajni, Vijay, Simbu, Dhanush et al )-like-antics...The skimpily clad girl was an avoidable element actually and so was the other heroine...Neways a little bit of Masala here and there, doesn't hurt, does it ? The songs are nice to listen to :D ...."Jalsa" is a common favourite, as far as my 7-9 year old cousins and I are concerned.....But the songs, I felt, were misplaced enitities in the movie...The movie would have been better if it were not for the girls and songs....

The Namesake :

A must-read book...I could go on and on about this book...Jhumpa Lahiri is a very talented and impressive and gifted story teller...I didn't like her "Interpreter of Maladies and the other Stories" very much...But this book is so very refreshing and nice to read...Nobody can beat her, when it comes to describing the most trivial and insignificant detail in a very delightful and charming manner...The Bengali customs mentioned, the American tradition that Gogol takes a fancy to, Gogol's birth, Ashima's love towards Calcutta and Indian'ness', Ashoke's subtle and mature approach to anything and everything, his fondness for Nikolai Gogol, the typical Indian parties thrown in the course of the story, Gogol's temporary infatuations, his 'incontrovertible' (Thanks Jhumpa, for this word...I love it :) ) transformation into an adult, his detachment at the same time attachment towards his kinfolk, the name-change from Gogol to Nikhil, the regret, that he feels towards the end, when he realizes there is absolutely nobody around to call him Gogol, everything almost every single thing in this book is so marvellously written...Please do read this book...If you don't lay your hands on this book, then you are missing out on something...Do not watch the movie, for heaven's sake (i haven't watched the movie as yet...Would love to watch..but if you are planning on watching the movie, watch it only after you read the book..) The movie might not have liberal doses of gratifying adjectives/descriptions in it...Read this book asap. Period.

Radio Channels in Chennai :

What do you do, when you are not in your home-town, with your kith and kin, snoring loudly in another room, with your cousins yelling their throats out, fighting in an unmanageable way, on a broiler ?? Listen to sooper programmes, that the boom box has to offer..I listened to every single programme on every radio channel possible :D...Just like I surf the Internet and the television channels, I surfed the radio channels as well... I recharged my batteries once in every 12 hours :D (For the remaining 12 hours, the player would be functioning non-stop)....I thought I could rate the radio channels on a scale from one to seven...

No 7 : Suryan FM (Cheapy is the word...The RJs suck bigtime.....They giggle throuought the show, ceaselessly..Now and then, they croak and snort too...You want Kuthu songs, you SHOULD definitely tune into 93.5)

No 6 : Big FM (Nothing Big in it to rave about..The selection of songs is pretty good actually..You can tune into 92.7, if the other channels sound muffled to your ears)

No 5 : Hello FM and Aaha FM (Nothing much to comment on...That 9-10 programme on Aaha FM sucks bigtime...I don't know, what it is called though..It involves a lot of characters, talking asininely..)

The fourth spot is vacant, cauz there are 2 radio channels occupying the 5th position

No 3 : Radio City (Neat channel....Sooper RJs, who talk wunnerful English...The only FM channel, that plays Hindi, English and Tamil songs 24 *7...All the English songs, that they play on this channel are lovely to listen to...So are the Hindi and Tamil songs...Love their selection of songs)

No 2 : Radio One (90% of the programmes are good...Heard Mirchi Suchi is going to come into their firm as an RJ...That Neela lady, who does some teleshopping gap-filler programme in this channel is irritating and funny at the same time..)

No 1 : Radio Mirchi (obviously !! Am not biased in any way...It's a fantastic channel, with sooper-cool RJs like Ajay, Shiva and Deva...Love all of 'em...I never fail to listen to Radio Rettaivaals in the morning...That Rettaivaals song is damn funny, especially the part in which a guy says "Yen ma..5 rooba ku paada sonna 50 rooba ku padituirukkiye...porum porum"...Humour, dynamism, zing and zeal are something that these RJs are inherently gifted with..this channel is definitely as hot as the brand emblem molagai :P)

The Unofficial Blogger's meet :

Met Sangeetha Akka there in Chennai....Spent an entire half-day with her...We walked all the way from my relative's place to her place...On the way, we messily devoured a Chocobar each...I never knew virtual world could be of great help in finding friends in total strangers....She is such a sweet-heart...Came to realize that she is a distant relative of one of my very close friends :) Her parents and grandparents are sweet as well...And yeah, that Ganapati bommai near the television at her place is sweet as well...We were supposed to go out together to a CRY (Child Rights and You, not Child Relief and You) meeting and to the British Council Library...But Poor Akka, lost her mobile phone :( ....An easy camaraderie existed between the two of us...In Harish's terms, we had this 'haven't-we-met-before' feeling in our hearts... Thanks Akka for having spent a substantial amount of time with me, for putting up with me...Thanks for everything :) Hoping to meet you soon, either here at my place or there in Chennai...Thanks Blogger !!

The vocabulary of my 2 insane,cute little male cousins has increased, after their trip to Chennai...They call each other Machan now...They shout Saroja Samanikalo at passers-by, from the terrace (One man, walking on the road, after listening to the little one shouting 'Saroja...' , came home and blasted my uncle :D).....They say "Naanga Jalsa Panninom", when you ask them "yenna da panninel Chennai la? "...

The reason for my long-drawn absence was a mixture of nothing much to write about and having got a life. But, like I said...
I'm back!

Today:

Went to Blogger's Meet at the (supposedly quieter!) Barista Creme. Other bloggers in attendance: River, TTG and Vulturo, and a sweet guy called James (who I hear was there since 4:30 p.m.!). We talked and had nice coffees.

Went back to Majnu ka Tila (after ages!) for some Beef Chilli and Tingmos and Shabhaklep. Was nice as always.

Contemplated going to Blues for a long overdue glass of Don't Dig It, but decided against it.

Came back home, played with Xena some, made a firm resolve to get back to blogging.
