Monday was THE DAY that I registered and confirm my NS pre enlistment medical checkup online.

I actually woke up late on that day, as late as noon where the sun was shone upon my ASS, HAHAS! I was suppose to meet Kian Wee in school at 1pm, to register online for NS and medical checkup appointment. However I arrived school at 2pm, Ops! I kept him waiting too long.

We managed to registered our medical appointment date on the 28th of November 2008, and had my appointment paper printed. It will be troublesome for me, as I have to go back to my family doctor sometime this week to retrieve my medical history, especially on my skin problem to prove to the medical officer during the medical checkup.

After that, we went to Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits to have a very late meal. We took bus 171 to Doby Ghuat bus stop, and from there alight and took bus 111 to Raffles Ave bus stop. We had to walk some distance to SG Flyers Landmark, where Popeyes is located.

I ordered a 2 piece chicken meal, upsizing the fries and drinks, and having an additional regular whip potato mash. Kian Wee ordered also a 2 piece chicken meal, upsizing the fries and drink too. However later after we finished our meal, he disgusted by ordering an ADDITIONAL LARGE WHIP POTATO MASH, OHH F*** HIM (LOL just kidding!). He even suggested to have coffee at Robert's Coffee, which is located beside Popeyes, I was like F*** man, don't you ever felt too full? LOLS!

We took an approximate 1.6 kilometre walk, starting from SG Flyers to Marine Square Shopping Mall. We went pass parts of the F1 track, and across the highway's asile and sides, and along with the roadside and traffic lights too. I would said it is indeed a nice way after a heavy meal.

Health tip: Do long, and very slow walks after you had a super and ridiculous heavy meal like ours, HAHA!

Walked around some of the shops in Marine Square Shopping Mall, before we head home in our different ways. I notice some really nice clothes shop for guys over at he Mall.

Fashion Tip: Check out the POA (People of Asia) retail shop at Marina Square branch, where they provide a black and white casual and yet formal with stylish and yet simplist design fashion wear, Awesome right?! :D

THE END!

Back on July 11, 2008, we had a tree-ripping storm in central Minnesota. We didn’t immediate

Back on July 11, 2008, we had a tree-ripping storm in central Minnesota. We didn't immediately notice that one of our oak trees was damaged. A giant branch dangled from on high, hanging from a few tenuous wood fibers. It was too high for us to reach with a ladder and even if we could reach the branch to cut it off, the size of the branch made such an operation a dangerous proposition. The tree is close to the house, so if the branch fell wrong, it might take out our picture window (or even the person on the ladder). We were hoping for a safe solution, but none was forthcoming, so we left the branch to sway every time the wind got feisty.

Last night, Hubby and I crawled into bed and had gotten properly snuggled in when we heard a magnificent THUD! It sounded like it had come from overhead, only none of our children were home, so no one was upstairs. Hubby got up to check out the noise and I heard him open the front door. He came to get me a few minutes later. Lo! The branch had fallen. In fact, it could not have fallen more perfectly. It didn't hit the roof or the window, although it may have brushed the front step. Thankfully, no one was around to be under it when it fell.

Here it is:

[caption id="attachment_512" align="alignnone" width="225" caption="The Branch Has Fallen"][/caption]

Here you can see how close it was to the house:

[caption id="attachment_513" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Close Call"][/caption]

Here it seems obvious what was holding the branch up in the tree:

On September 28, 2008 Pastor Zhang “Bike” Mingxuan and his wife celebrated their first peaceful Sunday in more than three months after officials restored their electricity and water service and permitted their house church to gather once more, reports Michael Ireland, chief correspondent, ASSIST News Service.

According to China Aid Association (CAA), Pastor Bike and his wife returned to Beijing on September 21 after being kidnapped and detained by Chinese police during the Olympics.

CAA says they rented an apartment, but on September 22, the couple’s water and electricity were cut off by the Public Security Bureau (PSB) office of Chaoyang District of Beijing. Officials told Pastor Bike he was not welcome in the city. Pastor Bike’s landlord was also threatened and told to stop renting to the couple.

In a report from CAA obtained by ASSIST News the organization says that Pastor Bike tried to sue the PSB, but the local court and prosecutor office refused to take up his case because of a "lack of eyewitness."

On the morning of September 26, Pastor Bike went to the PSB office of Chaoyang district, Beijing to file a complaint against the PSB branch office in Qibahe township. The three officers on Pastor Bike's complaint were: Qibahe Township PSB Office Director Mr. Yuan Hongwei, PSB officers Mr. Peng Cheng and Mr. Yang Bin.

CAA said an officer in charge of Religious Affairs from Domestic Security Protection Squad named Bai Tao called several officers from the Religious Affairs Bureau and the city government.

"The officials came to Bike and told him he is now allowed to operate his house church in his living area. They told him his rental apartment will not be disturbed again, " CAA said.

"Pastor Bike thanked them and invited them to attend the third anniversary of the founding of the Chinese House Church Alliance scheduled for October 20."

Pastor Bike wishes to thank all who have been praying for him and his family.

CAA explained this unique victory for Zhang's house church is a welcomed and encouraging sign for our brothers and sisters in China.

China Aid Association would like to personally thank those who have contributed to Pastor Bike's victory through their prayers, support and faithfulness to walk with those who are persecuted.

Report from the Christian Telegraph

Having a birds'-eye-view, can be handy when you're in for swooping any passer-by. It's that time of year for us - SPRING!! And the maggies (and other birds) are nesting, which make the magpies pretty volatile!!

You need to wear a hard hat and sunglasses on the back of your head!! They like to get ya from behind... when you've passed by!!

BTW, this is an Australian Magpie!!

Next up on this list is Mr. Nathan Branch & FL Hot Shot Services in Thonotasassa, FL. —

Next up on this list is Mr. Nathan Branch & FL Hot Shot Services in Thonotasassa, FL. -- This guy is a real scumbag. Normally I wouldn't start with name calling but when you see what he tried to pull off with my company you will see why.

My family runs a distributor company. We generally provide Biodiesel delivery to all kinds of people, including agricultural. Mr. Nathan Branch whom runs Florida Hot Shot Services has shady and quite unethical business practices. We dropped a load of 300 gals of fuel to Nathan, he gave us a check - everything cashed out fine and he liked the fuel.

We dropped off another load of 300 gals the next week, he gave us a check, everything seemed like normal. Nathan called us on Sept. 15 and asks if we can drop another load of at least 200 gals off to him, but he wanted to give us a check on Monday and ask us to hold it until Friday. Well in God We Trust, everyone else needs to pay cash LOL :-).

We declined his somewhat shady offer at the time, and asked him to call us back when he had the funds available. No biggie right? We tried to call him in earnest a few times after this call. Nobody ever answered! Well no wonder why...Well this asshole put a stop payment on the check for the 2nd load for the amount of $1080.00. WHAT THE FUCK?????? He kept the fuel, NEVER EVER called us to say something was wrong....so why?

I personally called this sorry ass redneck and left a message for him that I was going to sue him for the thousand dollars and we would be speaking with the police to let them know a bad check had been written for that amount.

Suddenly, surprise! He called me...he stated that he never called us on Sept. 15th which is fucking hysterical since he called my cell phone and I have data proof of this call. Then, he tells us the fuel was bad...so I asked why did you call and ask for more? He said he never did. LOLOL!

After a few calls of screaming obscenities & threats - suddenly he calls back and says.....I only used about 30 gallons and you can come get the rest....Hmmmm funny - If the fuel was bad, why did you use 30 gallons of it? We have run this fuel in our own personal diesel truck without any problems at all. I smelled bullshit for miles with this excuse.

Seems to me, he didn't have any money. He stopped the check right after we declined to hold his next check. Coinscidence or UFO involvement? Hmmmm....

So to all you people whom are thinking about using Mr. Nathan Branch or Florida Hot Shot Services -- PLEASE DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER HOT SHOT SERVICE!!

It has become disappointing to see the decline in American society which dictates scumbags like this being dishonest and down right unethical.

I took this shot with the leaves directly between my lens and the sun - as you can see, the sunlight glow is coming through the leaves. The exposure I used left me with a pale, pale blue, almost white sky. I desaturated the image a bit, leaving the background completely white.

I liked the simplicity of the resulting image - almost an Eastern, Zen feel. I may try removing the color completely from this one... see what happens.

There's nothing wrong with experimenting in photography. In fact, it's pretty much a requirement and another viewfinder life lesson.

Public Order official’s colleagues kick student ministry leader, issue more death threats.
JAKART

Public Order official’s colleagues kick student ministry leader, issue more death threats.

JAKARTA, September 18 (Compass Direct News) – A Public Order official’s colleagues kicked Charles Hutahaean, chairman of the Indonesian Christian Students’ Movement (GMKI) in Jakarta, in the stomach last week and threatened to kill other GMKI staff members.

The Public Order official, Crisman Siregar, threatened to stab Hutahaean with a bayonet in the confrontation between him and his colleagues and the GMKI leader on Sept. 9. Previously Siregar had warned Hutahaean to “be careful with your life.”

Volunteer Public Order officials normally mediate local conflicts, among other community functions, but in this case have sided with a private company in a land dispute with GMKI. Land granted to the church was sold to a business venture, the Kencana Indotama Persada (KIP) Co., without the consent of GMKI, and construction workers have already partly demolished an old GMKI office building on the site.

GMKI now shares a newer office building with its parent ministry, the Alliance of Indonesian Churches (PGI). When KIP construction workers built a wall separating the new building from the old, GMKI students demolished it, sparking two violent attacks by Public Order officials on Aug. 26 and 28.

As GMKI staff members on Sept. 9 gathered to discuss these issues, two carloads of Public Order officials drove up and parked outside. Six men entered the premises and began tearing down banners erected inside the GMKI fence. The banners, which faced onto a busy road, protested the sale of the disputed land and accused Public Order officials of “masterminding” the August attacks.

When Hutahaen and other staff members tried to stop them, Siregar drew out a bayonet and threatened to stab the pastor. Following Siregar’s lead, the other officials threatened to kill GMKI members. They also kicked desks and chairs in the office building, causing minor damage.

GMKI staff members immediately reported the incident to the police, who arrived shortly after the attackers had left. Police officers, however, said it would be difficult to press charges since Siregar had not actually used the bayonet.

It was two weeks earlier, following the attacks on GMKI’s office, that Siregar had warned Hutahaean to “be careful with your life.” (See Compass Direct News, “Land Dispute Leads to Attacks on Christian Hub in Indonesia,” September 3.)

Compass sources said Public Order officials would likely benefit financially from protecting KIP’s business interests.

Mysterious Appropriation

The disputed property is a large piece of land originally granted by the Dutch colonial government to the Vereneging Christian School (VCS) Foundation. The VCS then gave the land to the Christian School Association, which in turn passed it on to a branch of its own association, the Christian Education Foundation (YBPK).

Although occupied by many Christian ministries and associations, including the Christian University of Indonesia and the Indonesia Bible Institute, sources said the land belonged to YBPK.

Under the terms of the land grant, the land could not legally be sold to business entities, according to GMKI lawyer Nikson Lalu. In August 2006, however, a board member of YBPK, acting independently of the board, sold a small plot of land to KIP. An old office belonging to GMKI was still standing on the plot of land, adjacent to a newer building shared by GMKI and PGI.

Compass sources noted that a gas station and business offices had replaced other ministry offices on the granted land. It was not clear, however, how the businesses had appropriated the land from YBPK.

Report from Compass Direct News
