Energy Saving light bulbs are shit. Everyone looks yellow and sickly under their light. Sorry but I'd rather indulge in vanity than have to walk around looking like I'm wearing clothes that I pissed on the night before.

I ask for plastic bags on purpose for even the smallest of items I buy, even when I don't need a bag. Why?

Because I will do everything in my power, until the day I die, to undo what you cretins are doing.

I will make no attempt to use public transport. Why?

Because Buses are nothing but glorified pleb wagons. I travel in style.

I don't arrive for a date or a meeting, or arrive at work, by climbing off a shitty, rusted, piss canister! I arrive well dressed, in a car.

And all you will be able to do is remember back to the days when you weren't continually strapped for cash because of an initiative that you helped turn into a culture, when you were young and full of misplaced energy, I hope, that as you remember these things, you will remember those who opposed you, and I hope you will remember them well, I hope you'll remember what better humanitarians they were than you.

The world isn't going to end because you washed your clothes above 60 degrees Celsius, the weather won't get unbearably hot because you left your t.v. on standby, people won't die in their masses if you throw an empty crisp wrapper on the floor.

Every time you tell me that "we need to work together to save the planet," or enquire in your little accusatory tone as to how much energy I save a month, I die a little inside, because it pains me to see morons like you, believing you are better than you are. You are locusts, you are filth, you are everything that should be despised in man-kind, spineless, unquestioning imbeciles!

I am vain, I use regular light bulbs, I waste water, occasionally I litter, I pollute your beloved Earth.

What exactly is wrong with that? Are we not entitled to enjoy our time on Earth? Every day I am continually asked, NAY! DEMANDED! BY LAW, to make concessions in the the way I live! I am demanded to look after myself, to look after others, to look after the Earth, because apparently, "we're all in this together."

You know what? Fuck that shit, you lot are in this together, I'm not part of your lurid, mentally diseased culture. I'm of a higher breed, a better stock. I don't buy into your bullshit, I don't need you. You need me.

"We're all in this together." - No, we aren't, you just need us to be, because you're too weak to ever achieve anything on your own, you need to create a culture of lambs following sheep. Morons following retards. The blind following the blind!

Why is it continually demanded of me that I never let so much as one ounce of a self-interested action out anymore?

Anyway, I may be blogging more in the next few days... I have been stuck in bed for the most part all week. While it sucks that baldguy lost his job and our unemployment rate here is pretty miserable, it was good timing as he is keeping after boyo and fetching me provisions.

Something is very wrong in my back and I am trying to figure it out...
I had a big bad emergency spine surgery 12 years ago and the pain is near there.... I fear another infection or that perhaps the vertebrae are finally squashing some nerve... Anyway. It really freaking hurts.

But, I can stand still and type and I feel ok, for the most part....And I'm not a wuss. I have had pain every day for 12 years. But dull, achy pain is one thing, feeling like someone is chiseling into your spine and ribs (on just one side, thankfully) is another.

So here I am...

Had an hour and 15 minute long MRI this morning but won't know anything until they decide to call me. Medicine is so lax down here it's ridiculous, so I'm not holding my breath for an answer. When I had the parathyroid tumor two years ago the docs suggested we use a "wait and see" approach. I wound up doing a boat load of research and demanded the scan to see what was going on and then I found my own surgeon to schedule the surgery(Dr. Norman's Parathyroid Clinic in Tampa- amazing surgeon...). Wait and see. Those things don't just disappear- they are there and they cause problems until they are removed or you die from the freaking side effects (heart issues, digestive issues, liver issues...yikes!)... So I'm none too confident about my medical care here...If whatever this weird back thing is needs anything more invasive than an alcohol swab I'm heading north for a spell.  If this is another bone infection, I'm worried.  Last time they didn't find it until I was in ICU, on all sorts of apparatus, in a coma.  No more comas for me, thank you very much.  One was more than enough! I have to be here for my little guy.

Anyway. Here I am....Trying to stay as still as possible while my brain wants to run around doing a happy dance because the new issue of BUST magazine is coming out next week and woohoo! one of my pieces is in the Etsy co-op ad. Yay! So buy a copy and check out all of the shops.

Ok. Going to grab some tea and go be as still as a rock in front of the TV.

Most Christians have no problem seeing that struggles with pornography, fornication, and adulturey are sinful.

However, when it comes to the subject of masturbation, there are some who say that it is ok. I have heard people use the argument that scripture never says specifically that masturbation is wrong. They are correct. Scripture doesn't use the word masturbation but it also doesn't use the words pornography or pedophilia. But I doubt that anyone is going to argue that these are not sexual sins.

Another argument I have heard recently from some is that masturbation is not wrong because James Dobson says that it is not. While I do greatly respect Dr. Dobson for his parenting and marital advice, obviously I disagree with him on this subject.

I saw a great and loving response to Dr. Dobson by Mike Cleveland, the Founder and President of Setting Captives Free. Mike does a great job showing respect and love to another believer even while disagreeing with him. There are many Christians that could learn from Mike's example of how to speak the truth in love.

The book is a collection of three meditations on the Christian life. Being only 63 pages (with large font and lots of white space on the pages) it did not take long to read. But quantity does not always equate to quality. This book, like many of Nouwen's works, makes you pause and truly examine yourself and your surroundings within the framework of the house the Creator built.

One of the areas Nouwen discusses that has left me pondering since I closed the final page is the tension he talks about of care versus cure.
He shows that we live in a society that is focused on curing the problems around us. Leaking faucet? Call a plumber. Marital problems? Call a counselor. World hunger? Call a politician. There is a professional for everything. There is supposed to be a cure for everything.

However, whenever we fix one problem, two more pop up over there. The race continues trying cure all the problems.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have care. Our problem is, though, the most frequent use of the term "care" is in a negative connontation: Do you want to drive or shall I? "I don't care." What do you want for supper? "I don't care." Is this at all important to you? "I don't care." Nouwen says, "This expression of indifference toward choices in life has become commonplace. And often it seems that not to care has become more acceptable than to care, and a carefree lifestyle more attractive than a careful one" (pg. 37).

Why don't we care? Is it because we believe there are profesisonals for that? "My responsibility is set free because I am not a professional in care." I believe that if we stopped putting "cure" as our direct object and instead put "care" as our direct object, this world would begin to cure as a byproduct of the care. It is obvious that care is not a byproduct of cure.

I have noticed already in my own life when I have put, ashamedly, 'cure' in front of 'care'. It is a stretch for me, but I believe care being first is the right thing. I am not saying not to help cure problems and issues, but pause and ask if this is rather a better time for care with cure to come later. There are instances when cure needs to happen right away, but I believe too often we speedily go that direction (and in some instances, neither 'cure' nor 'care' exists, but rather apathy, but that is for another day).

Over to my visit with my CPN, it’s been six weeks since I last saw her during which time I was in an emotional state and struggling with my mood and feelings of wanting to die. Today I was in a good mood, the same mood I have been in for about the past eight days give or take a few hiccups and so I am guessing it was obvious to her at today’s appointment about how I was feeling. I initially woke up telling myself I didn’t need to go today since I felt fine but also decided that in the light of things it was best to attend if only to discuss the therapy group I am about to join next week.

I arrived just in time and after a small time waiting in the dire looking 1970’s waiting room I was called in, first off she apologised for having a cold and then came the “How are you doing?” - Why do I hate that question so much!!!!

We ended up discussing me getting accepted into the therapy group and starting next week and what she thought I would gain from it. She asked me how I had been over the past six weeks and I talked about some future plans I was making. She was surprised over my plans and queried why now did I want to do something and what was it that had changed. Without revealing my thoughts and plans to you all I explained to her that every year I go through the same feelings and do nothing about it and this year I decided it was time to act upon it and prove something if only to myself rather than others. I felt it was time to put myself first and sod everyone else.

I then discussed my trip to Blackpool and how I sat on the pier debating whether of not to kill myself, but came home and decided life was worth living and that I’d not yet found the reason why but I was certain there was some reason I was put on this planet.

She was rather intrigued to find out more about my plans but I was reluctant to divulge into it too much since there is no guarantees I will succeed in what I want to achieve, it’s early days but I am working on it. We also talked about the dog and my spending over the past week – which has been quite crazy but which I have thoroughly enjoyed!

I must have only been in there twenty minutes, we where rapidly running out of things to talk about because I felt so good but I could have talked for the entire hour if I’d been questioned a little more. I ended up finishing the session by asking her if I could have a copy of the letter she had sent to the psychiatrist and to my GP, since I like to know what they write about me and I feel by reading what she wrote about my session with her last time it can only prepare me for the dreaded psychiatrist appointment later this month – I am not looking forward to that I can tell you. As for the copy of the letter she had to check if she’s allow to just give me a copy of if I have to put my request in writing, she’ll get back to me on that.

Sitting there opposite her today talking as though I was having a coffee with someone I had known for years. Even I realise when things are good for me. I make eye contact, I don’t fidget, I don’t panic and more importantly when I talk I do so with a real air of confidence. If only my life could be like this 24/7 there would be no need to deal with CMHS and life would be ever so sweet. It’s all so completely different from when I am low and feeling paranoid about everyone and everything.

As for a follow up appointment with my CPN, I was not given one today which partly surprised me but partly didn’t. I guess you could say I saw this coming! I got the impression that was the end of our sessions now that I have joined the therapy group and will obviously receive weekly support through them, although technically she didn’t say it was the last time she would see me. I was dreading this as I have to admit I feel I am only just beginning to open up to my CPN and I feel I do gain something out of my appointments when I see her. Maybe she’ll get in contact with me after the Psychiatrists appointment because no doubt whatever the outcome of that a report will go to her and my GP.

I am still all for the therapy but it’s not psychiatry input it’s psychology and so differs somewhat I feel. Still I guess I shall see what comes of my first appointment there next week and how I feel after that, then the following week I have my psychiatrist’s appointment, the sooner that is over the better. For me there is something too clinical and off putting about talking to a psychiatrist.

Stage 1 - treat the floor with the wood lye. This will soak into the wood and is left to dry overnight.

Stage 2 – Buff the woca wood floor oil (master oil, colour oil) into the floor. The floor surface should then be rubbed down with coarse patina disks to smooth the wood grain. Any excess oil needs to be removed with a cloth so that the surface is damp rather than wet with the oil. If using the white master oil you will notice that some of the white residue is removed when wiping off the excess.

Stage 3 – Wash the floor using the wood cleaner. Re-oil with maintenance oil and rub down with the medium patina disk

Stage 4 – General maintenance of your floor. The white pigments in the soap will keep the floor light. The white soap should be used regardless of which oil was originally applied.

Preparation with Wood Lye: Stage 1

Ensure your wood floor has been correctly sanded ready for the oiling process.

The Wood Lye is a solution which contains a white pigment that ensures the floor will remain light after it is finished and continues to lighten when exposed to sunlight. You can use Wood Lye on any wood type, both softwood and hardwood. There are 2 types of wood lye which will complement your floor – for softwoods such as Pine and Larch, you need to use the softwood lye. For hardwoods such as oak and exotic species the Wood lye should be used.

Empty the Lye into a bucket or container and stir thoroughly to ensure all the pigments have been fully mixed together (these often settle at the bottom of the bottle). When applying the wood lye use a blue nylon pad with the flat mop to get into tight corners. The instructions on the Woca Wood Lye state that the floor needs to be washed with Intensive Wood Cleaner before applying the Wood Lye, however this is not always required and the floor can be prepared by removing any dust with a vacuum.

1. Spread the wood lye in to the floor using blue flat mop. Apply a generous coat of aprox 7sqm per litre to the floor. Ensure the wood is evenly saturated by brushing along the grain of the wood. Leave to dry for 8 hours.
2. A further wash with intensive wood cleaner is recommended by Woca to remove any excess lye but this step is not always required as this process is also done when the floor is treated with the master oil.

The oiling process: Stage 2

Ensure all the Wood Lye has completely dried out before applying the oil.

It is advisable to wear old clothes during oiling as this process involves using plenty of oil cloths and the oil can damage your clothing. The process takes aprox 1 hour per 20sqm. Take care when using the oil as it can cause skin irritation – the use of oil resistant rubber gloves is recommended. When the cloths have been used they need to be placed in a bucket of water as the fumes can cause self-combustion.

Empty the contents of the oil into a container and stir well to ensure the white pigments are not settled at the bottom of the container.

Apply the oil using the flat mop, brush, roller or cloth. Take care around the edges of the room and apply with a small brush and cloth to ensure no oil is splashed onto skirting or adjoining floors.

Leave the oil for 20 minutes to soak into the wood. If the oil absorbs through before this time apply more oil. Buff the floor using a flat mop to ensure the oil is fully absorbed. Working along the grain of the wood, buff the surface using the green patina disk to smooth the surface. Working from the edge of the room furthest from the exit, wipe off all excess oil using clean cloths and ensure there are no patches of oil left on the floor as this will start to shine when dry. A polishing machine can be used during this process for larger areas. These can be hired from most hire shops. Leave to dry for at least 12 hours and do not walk on the floor in this time. Dispose of all the cloths by placing in a container filled with water as they can self combust / ignite.

Maintenance process: Stage 3

A final maintenance coat should be applied to ensure that the floor is completely protected – if building work is being done protect the floor with Everbuild Roll and Stroll until all work is complete – then apply the maintenance coat.

1st Maintenance Coat
The 1st maintenance coat is applied to ensure that the floor stays durable and wear resisistant. This maintenance coat should be done after all building / decorating work has been completed as it can remove any dirt / wear from work done.

Step 1 – Wet Clean and scrub
This step involves cleaning the floor with Intensive Wood Cleaner. This should be made up of 1 part cleaner and 40 parts water. Scrub the floor using the flat mop to get any dirt off the floor.

Using a dry mop head or dry cloth, wipe off all the excess water from the floor. When the cloth / mop head get saturated rinse and wring out before continuing. Check the floor for marks whilst it is still wet – any marks on the floor can be removed with the edge of a knife.

Leave the floor to dry for 1-2 hours. Some floors including oak floors may look dull now – however the sheen and colour will return when re-oiled.

Step 2 – Oil

Apply a thin coat of maintenance to the floor using a cloth and rub in well. The maintenance oil should be used sparingly. Whilst the floor is still damp, the floor should be buffed by using 2 green patina disks with the flat mop. This will smooth the surface of the wood to give a beautiful protected finish.

Wipe any excess oil from the floor after buffing. Leave the floor to dry for at least 4 hours before walking on it. If you are using a buffing machine and you want a higher sheen on the floor you can apply a second coat of maintenance oil and leave to dry for 1 – 2 hours. When the floor is tacky the excess can be buffed off.

Periodical cleaning: Stage 4

The White soap needs to be used when cleaning and maintaining your floor to keep the floor light. When the floor requires a maintenance clean complete step 3 to bring the floor back to its fully protected condition.
