Yûkoku - The Rite of Love and Death

In 1961 Yukio Mishima published a short story, Yûkoku (Patriotism), the first of several works devoted to the ideals of the rebellious young officers of the 1930s. As his admiration grew into emulation, he himself began training with the Self-Defense Forces, and by 1968 he had formed his own private 100-man army, the Tate no Kai (Shield Society). He had further plans, and these were indicated early on when he decided to turn “Patriotism” into a short film.

In the spring of 1965 he was at Okura Studios, himself playing the idealistic young officer who bids farewell to his wife (Yoshiko Tsuruoka) before they kill themselves. Her death is discreet, a small dagger, but his is spectacular — full hara-kiri with lots of blood and intestines.

The film, shot four years prior to Mishima's suicide by seppuku (self-inflicted disembowelment followed by beheading) eerily features himself in the lead role as a general whose men are unable to incite a coup and decides to commit harakiri (self-inflicted stab wound to the stomach). His shy, but beautiful and besotted wife pledges her devotion to him and agrees to also commit harakiri.

They also voted to give the U.S. greater power over Codex (they made it the new Chair, for at least the next three years). Since it is the U.S.(Monsanto, Big Pharma) that has been pushing the worst agendas, we are in trouble.

We have a couple of hundred thousand on our mailing list- we need MILLIONS to blast  Washington with our eblasts. If people don\'t get really angry, really soon, they are going to be eating much more poison than they are now.

During this very informative interview, I had a thought - one I'd actually had before, but Dr. Laibow reminded me of it again - to search for information on chemicals that can cause swelling of the tissues of the upper airway. You see, I was diagnosed, in December 2004, with severe obstructive sleep apnea, a condition caused by the tissues of my upper airway blocking my airway - and thus, ceasing my breathing - during sleep. Incidentally, I noticed that this effect was reduced by my adopting of the paleolithic diet about seven or eight months ago. My theory, which I've corroborated with a doctor's opinion, is that the fat loss I went through when I was in the early phases of the diet had probably shrunk the fatty laryngeal tissues of my upper airway, thus giving me at least some degree of relief from my sleep apnea.

Anyway, as I searched for chemicals that cause swelling or inflammation of these upper airway tissues, I came across some evidence that at least one chemical - sodium hydroxide - does, indeed cause such an effect. Furthermore, I found that sodium hydroxide has been approved by the FDA as a food additive and, further, that it is also approved for that purpose by Codex Alimentarius. Oh, and it's also in your drinking water, supposedly to prevent the corrosion of iron and copper pipes, which is a strange thing, since the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for sodium hydroxide says it's a harmful corrosive agent, itself.

What is Codex Alimentarius, you ask? Well, basically, it is part of the shadowy underworld of Eugenicists and depopulationists who want to kill you and me and 90% of humanity. But, it's all for the "good cause" of saving the planet, of course.

Part of the Codex's agenda includes outlawing all dietary supplements, a goal I have mixed feelings about, as I have personally researched and confirmed that most, if not all supplements contain harmful fillers and additives, some of which can be especially dangerous to people with diabetes.

But, getting back to the effects of just sodium hydroxide - never mind the some 699 other chemicals that have been found in our drinking water - I now have evidence that it may, at least in part, be responsible for the epidemic of obstructive sleep apnea that has suddenly burgeoned within the last decade or so. And who knows what else it may be responsible for?

Regole Generali dei Marine:
- Le Squadre da Combattimento funzionano come quelle DA, 1 arma Pesante e 1 Arma Speciale;
- Nuova regola, basata sulla Disciplina, chiamata Tattiche di Combattimento (Combat Tactics), che dovrebbe funzionare così: puoi scegliere volontariamente di fallire il test di Morale e ripiegare con la squadra... il ...Ed essi non conosceranno la paura ti fa chiamare a raccolta automaticamente.
Tuttavia, pare che se l'unità nemica sfonda sulla tua unità in ripiegamento, l'unità SM viene considerata Implacabile (ovvero si prende le ferite di risoluzione). So che è la regola è un po' oscura ma ancora non abbiamo descrizioni più puntuali.

Ha il profilo di un normale Capitano con 3 Ferite e in più AC6.
Conferisce a se stesso alla sua squadra le abilità Mordi e Fuggi + Carica Furiosa, e può far sostituire a tutto l'esercito l'abilità Combat Tactics con l'abilità Outflank (quella dei nuovi Scout infiltratori insomma).

Harlock & Maya by William H. Jordan

Maya

Harlock's only love interest, and quite possibly his wife, though this is only implied, not explicitly stated. Maya is the voice of Radio Free Arcadia, a pirate radio station which brings messages of hope and encouragement to the subjugated citizens of earth during the time of the Illumidas occupation. After Harlock's defeat and rout back to earth, she sends messages via the airwaves for him to escape earth by any means possible, that he might one day return as earth's savior, and in doing so she makes a marked woman of herself (even more than before) in the eyes of the Occupation force. Harlock gets shot up quite badly attempting to save her on one occasion, and loses his right eye in doing so.

Maya creates Harlock's pirate uniform and the huge Jolly Roger he flies from the Arcadia as parting gifts for her love, but eventually dies by the hand of Muriguson for her part in the combined human/Tokargan revolt. Her symbol was a single red rose, and after her death, Emeraldas took up the rose as her own calling card. Harlock laid her to rest in the Sea of Stars, vowing never to forget her, and never to stop fighting.

I'm not fond of english words in a japanese song, but in this case, it gives a Omaha Beach touch. Great opening.

The Mask of Zorro

In 1821, the Mexican Army is on the verge of liberating its country from Spanish colonial rule. In the area of present-day California, the cruel and ruthless Spanish Governor, Don Rafael Montero is about to be overthrown by the advancing Mexican Army. In a last ditch effort to trap his arch-nemesis, the masked swordsman Zorro, Montero lays a trap by condemning three innocent men to death. Zorro arrives and begins fighting the guards, not noticing an extra contingent awaiting him on a nearby balcony. The trap is thwarted with assistance from two orphan brothers, Joaquin and Alejandro Murrieta, whereupon Zorro rewards Joaquin with a medal he is wearing. Zorro then lands in front of Montero and cuts a "Z" into his neck as a reminder to never return to California. Calling his faithful black stallion, Toronado, Zorro rides up into the sunset and waves his sword into the sky in front of the cheering populace.

In Macross (and Robotech), Minmay is the love interest of the main character Hikaru Ichijyo (Rick Hunter in Robotech) and becomes an idol singer and movie star onboard the spacecraft SDF-1 Macross. Her songs, which cause confusion amongst alien Zentradi soldiers, play a critical role in Space War I against Boddole Zer's Zentradi fleet.

Macross creators Mikimoto Haruhiko and Kawamori Shoji have stated that Minmay's popularity in both sides of the war is partially inspired by the song Lili Marleen, a German love song which was popular on both sides during World War II.

So what does this say about Bible inerrancy for today's evangelical fundamentalists?  We know that the Catholic Church had unhindered and exclusive access to early Christian writings after about c315-325 CE.  They absolutely controlled what was canonized and passed on, and what was considered heresy (didn't agree with them) so they could burn or suppress (and they did both) anything they wanted.  They also controlled the scribes and approved copies.

We also know that Eusebius was heavily involved with the picking and choosing of what was included, and was commissioned by Emperor Constantine, sometime after 325 CE, to produce 50 copies of a Bible to send to churches. It is believed that the Codex Sinaiticus and the Codex Vaticanus are surviving examples. This also marked the first time the Old Testament and New Testament were produced together.

Most real Biblical scholars agree that Scripture has been edited to agree with the Catholic dogma, or the scribes particular bent, and there can be found alterations made by later Protestants. We can go online to Bible Gateway at: http://www.biblegateway.com/ and find 20 different English versions of The Book, and there can be found very subtle differences that can totally alter the thought or meaning.

We have no existing-original writings of the early Biblical authors. Many of the writers whose name appears in the headings today did not actually write them. Nothing original left to compare modern versions to.  So all of the modern interpretations have to be taken on ‘faith' :-)  We also know from extensive histories, that interpretations have varied...in *very large ways...from the time of Jesus to modern days. There is no continuity or consistency to this so-called ‘God's Word' or consistency of dogma or worship.  Would this be the hallmark of a real God? Is this a Godly enterprise?  Or could it be made-up by man?  Maybe the real god is ‘out there' or ‘in there', waiting to be discovered.

I find it hard to muster up that much faith and enthusiasm for what appears to be a major scam.

*Polygamy, slavery, rights of kings, second class feminine, right of ‘The Church' to torture and kill in the name of God, etc.   Human slavery is the worst thing a God could have ever sanctioned. There can be no excuse for that little mistake...when this was included as a Godly thing; the Hebrew scribes at that point proved there is no God...in my humble opinion.

Vitamin C About to be Made Illegal in Canada!

What if, just for taking vitamin C, you could be thrown in jail for up to 2 years and fined up to $5,000,000?

That scenario could very well soon become a reality in Canada. The Canadian Government is trying to pass a bill known as Bill C51. According to some interpretations of the bill, it would remove all supplements from over-the-counter availability, by only allowing MD’s to prescribe them as they see fit.

This would mean that if you wanted to take a multivitamin, you would have to book an appointment with your doctor and try to convince your doctor that you are in need of these supplements. If your doctor decides a certain drug would be better for you, then you won't have access to your supplements anymore.

Consequences of the bill could include:

• No more supplement stores
• Supplements made illegal unless obtained through a prescription; 70 percent of all current supplements on the market could be removed
• Fines of up to $5,000,000.00 and/or 2 years in jail per incident of being caught breaking this law

Here is a little activity to try at home this weekend.

It is all about the way in which Aztecs write their numbers. They didn't use figures like we do: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...etc. As we know they used pictures or glyphs. A collection of these glyphs/symbols was called a codex.

Look at the sheet and read it carefully, then see if you can use the information to work out what numbers the codices represent.

Get your parents involved too, they will love the challenge. Bring it to school and I will mark it if you like!

In episode 25, Kittan meets his demise by protecting the other members of the Dai-Gurren Brigade.

Kittan offers to take the Space King Kittan on a mission to destroy the shield and fire spiral-based missiles at the core of the Death Spiral Machine, but not before stealing a kiss from Yoko, and apologizing for his "selfishness".

Screaming his final speech, Kittan awakens his own Spiral Energy, melding the drill to his King Kittan, and performing his own variation of Simon's signature attack, the Giga Drill Breaker, to destroy the Death Spiral Machine. The resulting explosion engulfs and kills Kittan, who notes before he dies that spiral power is really something, but also frees the the Chouginga Dai-Gurren from the space sea.

Tiananmen Square Massacre

The Tiananmen Square Massacre of 1989 were a series of demonstrations led by labor activists, students, and intellectuals in the People's Republic of China (PRC) between April 15 and June 4, 1989. While the protests lacked a unified cause or leadership, participants were generally against the authoritarianism and economic policies of the ruling Chinese Communist Party and voiced calls for democratic reform within the structure of the government. The demonstrations centered on Tiananmen Square in Beijing, but large-scale protests also occurred in cities throughout China, including Shanghai, which stayed peaceful throughout the protests. In Beijing, the resulting military crackdown on the protesters by the PRC government left many civilians dead or injured. The reported tolls ranged from 200 to 10 000 deaths.
