I got into a discussion recently as to whether chiropractic should be considered complimentary or alternative medicine. The April 25, 2008 issue of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine published a study entitled "Do Chiropractors Identify with Complementary and Alternative Medicine? Results of a Survey". Their findings were that the majority (69%) of the chiropractors in the sample rejected being characterized as CAM practitioners, showing some preference for the term integrated medicine (27%).

I suppose when a chiropractor is evidence-based and thrives to work within the medical model, the term 'alternative' might not apply. When I send a patient to his primary care physician to get medication during a course of chiropractic treatment, that is certainly not an alternative to medical care. It is complimentary to what the MD might prescribe. Is it integrated? Not yet for me. If I were practicing in a hospital setting or some multi-disciplinary setting, I might be more comfortable with the term "integrated." For now, I'll settle for complementary.

How progressive of the US military to use yoga as a treatment for soldiers returning from Iraq with post-traumatic stress disorder. As reported in the May 6 Washington Post, the Specialized Care Program at Walter Reed Army Medical Center focuses on helping service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan cope with the flashbacks and nightmares typical of post-traumatic stress disorder, which affects 20 percent of the approximately 1.6 million U.S. military personnel who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan, according to a Rand study released last month. The program uses a guided meditation technique called yoga nidra, which I know from personal experience to create a profound state of relaxation.

Although Homeopathy is under threat on the mainland, BBC Northern Ireland and The Belfast Telegraph

Although Homeopathy is under threat on the mainland, BBC Northern Ireland and The Belfast Telegraph report on succesful homeopathic treatment in a trial of alternative therapies in two Northern Ireland GP clinics (Get Well UK):

BBC Northern Ireland: "Northern Ireland is said to use more prescription drugs than any other UK region. While tablets may alleviate symptoms, they can be addictive and have side effects. A BBC NI documentary looks at the alternatives:

Londonderry woman Frances Gillen was addicted to prescription drugs for more than 20 years. The legacy of the Troubles and raising five children by herself took its toll. After being caught up in gunfire, she slid into depression and refused to leave home for years.
"
It affected me... I stayed in the house for the guts of three years, or maybe more, without going out. The only place I would have gone to was to go over to the doctors," she said. "It got that I would not even wash myself. I got the TV brought up into my room. "I didn't want to commit suicide but I really didn't want to go on if this was life, if this was my life... the quicker the better, I could go.

However, her life was turned around when she tried homeopathy as part of a pilot scheme being run in two centres in Northern Ireland. The Get Well Scheme allowed GPs to refer patients to complementary therapists, with the NHS paying for their treatment.

Within weeks, Frances felt her depression lift and she started to resume normal life; she also came off all prescription medication.

"Now I feel like 16 again... well 30," she joked.

Belfast Telegraph: "Traditionally Northern Ireland has always used more prescription drugs than anywhere else in the UK. We're fond of our medicines and we're fond of going to our doctors. The doctor has always been at the centre of our society. Attitudes, however, are changing and for decades patients are now turning to ancient forms of medicine such as acupuncture and aromatherapy — among other therapies.

In 2006 the government controversially decided to do the same and announced a new initiative — the Get Well Scheme. The trial provided complementary therapies to patients within two health centres in Northern Ireland, the Holywood Arches Health Centre in east Belfast and the Shantallow Health Centre in Londonderry, with the treatment paid for by the NHS.

Its aim was to see if complementary therapies could help the health service be more cost-effective by making patients feel better without the use of expensive prescription drugs.

It was designed to help people with problems such as depression and anxiety.

Then we meet Anne McCloskey, a straight-talking GP from the Shantallow Health Centre whose view on complementary medicine differs but changes over time.

In part, her conversion is due to the case of one remarkable patient featured in the film.

Every GP, Anne McCloskey says, has a set of what is referred to as 'heart-sink' patients; those who make the GP's heart sink as soon as they walk through the door. Some 'heart-sinks' will visit their GP as often as every second day and, no matter what the GP does, they continue to decline despite there being no clear cause of sickness.

Dr McCloskey's 'heart-sink' patient was Frances Gillen. For over two decades Frances had been suffering from depression which she says began as a result of 'Troubles-related' anxiety coupled by the stress of bringing up a large family.

In the film she recalls an incident in which she was almost hit by gunfire and, as a result, refused to leave the house for a number of years.

Frances became heavily dependent on prescription drugs and was one of the first patients Dr McCloskey referred to the Get Well Scheme and her subsequent story is a success."

I know it's been reported on other blogs but I thought I'd include it on mine as well, for completeness sake.

UK GP website Pulse reports:

Homeopathy is as effective as conventional therapy in children with eczema, concludes the first prospective cohort study to compare the treatments.

The German study in 118 children with eczema found conventional treatment by GPs was equally as effective as homeopathic treatment in relieving symptoms and improving quality of life.

Symptom scores, as assessed by patients or their parents at one year, were not significantly different, although physician scores for eczema signs and symptom scores were significantly improved in the homoeopathically treated group.

The authors said this trial in primary care provided good evidence for the use of homeopathy for the treatment of eczema and gave a ‘more realistic picture’ of eczema therapy than that seen in a placebo-controlled randomised controlled trial."

The research is published in the latest issue of Complementary Therapies in Medicine journal. Which describes itself as:

"Complementary Therapies in Medicine is an international, peer-reviewed journal that has considerable appeal to anyone who seeks objective and critical information on complementary therapies or who wishes to deepen their understanding of these approaches. It will be of particular interest to healthcare practitioners including family practitioners, complementary therapists, nurses, and physiotherapists; to academics including social scientists and CAM researchers; to healthcare managers; and to patients.

Complementary Therapies in Medicine aims to publish valid, relevant and rigorous research and serious discussion articles with the main purpose of improving healthcare. The journal believes that good healthcare needs to be based on clinical judgement and the available evidence on what is safe and effective, integrating conventional and complementary therapies as appropriate.

Complementary Therapies in Medicine publishes a variety of articles including primary research, reviews and opinion pieces. Recognising that some forms of CAM present novel and complex interventions, the journal encourages the exploration of the methodology of research. It believes that researchers should always aim at employing high ethical and methodological standards, and also welcomes small or exploratory studies that make a contribution to the area. Well conducted studies with negative outcomes are also welcome if they inform patient care. The journal welcomes considered opinion pieces that reflect genuine disagreements but remain respectful of the views of others.

Each issue features original, high quality research on complementary medicine, an abstracts sections with details of recently published research of high importance, as well as information and experiences on intregrating complementary medicine into mainstream care."

Sounds like my kind of journal.

Come and learn about our techniques in treating pain conditions. Hosted by Scott Denny, PhD, AP, DOM of Holy Cross Hospital and Peter Diamond DC of MultiCare Rehabilitation.

You will see the Antalgic-Trak spinal decompression instrument which has been shown to be effective in the treatment of:*

* disc protrusions
* disc herniations
* pinched nerves
* limited spinal flexibility
* muscle spasm
* spinal vertebral fixations
* spinal facet imbrications
* radiculitis
* foraminal encroachment
* spondylolisthesis
* spondylosis
* spinal stenosis

Unlike other decompression treatment systems in use in many clinics, the Antalgic-Trak is capable of positioning patients into specific spinal postures to target specific areas of the spine. And, it is capable of performing range of motion therapy while the spine is under gentle distraction creating a soothing stretch to the spinal tissues. This technique has many of the benefits of manipulation under anesthesia (MUA) but without potential side effects of sedation and at a fraction of the cost!

* A recent study being prepared for presentation at the American Academy of Pain Management
19th Annual Meeting Clinical Meeting has shown 95% success in eliminating or significantly reducing pain related to these painful spinal conditions with the Antalgic-Trak.

But wait there's more!

Dr. Denny will also present information and seminar dates on other cutting edge techniques for the treatment of pain conditions:

* Percutaneous Neuromodulation Therapy (PNT): PNT is a technique which has shown to be effective in treating patients with chronic spinal pain which has not responded to other forms of therapy.

* The integrated neuromuscular pain management system for the treatment of pain conditions in anywhere in the body.

* Spinal pain management techniques developed by Dr. Denny and his colleague's using manual examination and specific testing procedures to assess the contribution of muscle and connective tissue in the overall pain problem. When Trigger Points are found or suspected they can be confirmed electrically allowing identification of the most tender muscles causing the pain. The majority of patients will respond favorably to this approach which provides an inexpensive but effective solution to common pain complaints.

The recent death of a student using Chinese herbal medicine has reignited controversy over alternative therapies. With little regulation and scant evidence of effectiveness, are users risking their health?

Ling Wang, a 25-year-old PhD student, died after taking Chinese herbal medicine to treat a stomach upset and skin rash.

An inquest last month heard that Ling, from Newcastle, fell into a coma and died shortly after taking the medicine in tea or pill form last August.

One in five Britons uses some kind of complementary therapy, according to an ICM poll, but the industry is largely unregulated and there's little or no evidence that many of the therapies work.

In fact, only osteopathy and chiropractic therapy are covered by regulations insisting that practitioners be qualified with a relevant body.

A woman dies cause of the unregulated alternative and complementary (CAM or quackery or bull shit).

John Bremner and Anna Sawkins, partners in the UK-based innovative alternative health company, Sweet

John Bremner and Anna Sawkins, partners in the UK-based innovative alternative health company, Sweet Cures of York , are leading a call for clinical trials of new drugs to also test the drugs against natural remedies, both new and traditional.

This, Anna says, "Would solve at a stroke the appalling situation where a drug is accepted and brought into use just by virtue of having been 'trialled' even though its performance was barely better than placebo, and is then the preferred choice for treating whatever disorder it is aimed against."

She makes the point that if the new drug and its side effects had been tested against one or more natural remedies, as well as against placebo, the trial would put the drug in its true perspective. "You could well find that a new drug is more effective and has less side effects than treating the problem naturally," he says, "but the opposite could also be discovered, and wouldn't that be a great thing to know?"

Testing new drugs against natural remedies would also, at a stroke, solve the problems of the providers of natural health solutions not being able to afford the huge costs of well-run clinical trials. The information revealed would be invaluable to our sum of knowledge about natural remedies, not only about what works, but about what doesn't work.

John Bremner reinforces the point, "The public really want this. There is a huge need for people to know what works and what doesn't work, and traditional, natural and food-based remedies don't have the evidence-base needed for people, therapists, and doctors to be able to determine the best way to treat particular problems."

They suggest that trials could also include nutrition and lifestyle change treatment options. So for example, if a new drug to slow or reverse the progress of colon cancer is being proposed, wouldn't it be great to know if doing 10 minutes exercise a day, going on an organic diet and taking high doses of flax-seed oil achieved a result that equalled or bettered the drug being tested?

What if just taking a plate of porridge in the morning worked better than the proposed new drug? Or what if taking a tablespoon of olive oil proved as effective?

The idea behind their proposal is to uncover these possibilities. As John Bremner continues, "To compare a new drug to placebo is great, but let's compare proposed new drugs to our huge legacy of natural health cures. The pharmaceutical industry is barely a hundred years old and does not have all the answers - which is one reason they are busy trying to harvest and patent the active ingredients of natural ingredients that they already know to be effective. Natural remedies and lifestyle answers to health problems are based on a legacy of thousands of years of trial and error, finding out what works and what doesn't work."

To quote James Duke, PhD, (The Herbal Insider) discusing whether natural remedies work as well as drugs, or better, "Until tamoxifen and raloxifene are compared to standardized bean soup (40 milligrams of isoflavones per cup) and/or to kudzu (our best source of the natural phyto-estrogen, daidzein) no one knows for sure--not you, me or the ACS."

There would seem to also be a case for extending the new guidelines to cover surgical trials. For example, olive oil and lemon juice are traditionally used to get rid of gall stones. Logically it would seem to make sense to test the risks of the operation to remove the gall bladder against this natural method of making them slip out of the body.

And again, isolated rare sugars or combinations of these can reverse antibiotic resistant kidney, urinary tract, bladder, and prostate infections that allopathic treatment finds difficult or impossible to address without causing the individual long-lasting damage. Should alternative remedies not be tried before a kidney is allowed to deteriorate to the point where it needs to be removed?

One of the points John Bremner and Anna Sawkins are making is that the pharmaceutical industry will also benefit from their suggested incorporation of natural remedies rather than just placebo into trials. New drugs are often arrived at by extracting active ingredients from plants that have been traditionally used as remedies. If a pharmaceutical company is successful in deriving a new drug that is more effective than, say, a tea made from the leaf or flower of the plant, then they can prove that point in the clinical trial. It will also show up natural or traditional remedies that don't work better than placebo, adversely affect the condition being treated, or produce significant side effects.

On the other hand, if the pharmaceutical industry is allowed to continue ignoring alternative remedies in its clinical trials, we are in danger of losing them altogether as the industry uses its enormous financial influence and lobbying power to bury all alternative remedies so deep in the mire of complex legislation and regulatory costs, that no provider of alternative remedies or healthcare will be able to survive.

To Take Further Action: In the UK you can write to the Health Minister Dawn Primarolo, and propose that the guidelines for conducting clinical trials should be amended to include trialling of natural remedies alongside placebo. It's exactly the right time, because she is currently working on new legislation to make drug companies more accountable.

Research is increasingly demonstrating the effectiveness of certain complementary/alternative treatments such as acupuncture, massage, tai chi, yoga, meditation and biofeedback for chronic pain, reduced mobility and other ailments. Why then are more insurance companies not paying for them? I think more of us need to "vote with our feet" by demanding coverage for proven alternative treatments and switching to insurance companies that pay for them. We and the health care system will all benefit. As one study found, support for lifestyle changes that prevent disease is far cheaper than hospitalization and expensive pills!

It's amazing how pervasive the misguided notion that people need to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day is.

Two Ivy League physicians have debunked that myth. They found that drinking water before meals does not suppress the appetite, and that drinking lots of water does not flush toxins from the body, prevent headaches, or improve the skin.

Who's to blame for the prevalence of this misinformation? Kidney specialist Dr. Stanley Goldfarb blames alternative medicine. Key quote:

"The source of this [urban myth] is the complementary and alternative medicine worlds.
"Suckers: How Alternative Medicine Makes Fools of Us All; Snake Oil Science; and next month sees another, Trick or Treatment: what these new books have in common is varying degrees of frustration at the seemingly inexorable rise of complementary medicine. It seems the aim of some of these authors is to finish off a burgeoning health industry that they believe is based on charlatans and quacks preying on the gullible and desperate.

The books reflect the growing exasperation in some quarters that public opinion is not as amenable to persuasion and scientific evidence as they would hope. The language gets lurid; the mood music to pronouncements on complementary medicine is increasingly alarmist - we are living in dangerous times, an unEnlightenment looms as tides of irrationality threaten to overwhelm the palisades erected by science. "Reason is a precious but fragile thing," declared Richard Dawkins in his series, The Enemies of Reason, last autumn. "Reason has liberated us from superstition and given us centuries of progress. We abandon it at our peril."

What so troubles these science warriors is that it is estimated a third of people in the UK now use complementary medicine, at a cost of £1.5bn a year. In the US, the figures are substantially higher; it has been calculated that more visits are made to healing therapists than to doctors. There is an extraordinary paradox here: a half-century of astonishing conventional medical advances has not succeeded in eliminating complementary medicine. Quite the reverse: the breakthroughs in conventional medicine have been accompanied by the proliferation of other forms of healing - many of which have little or no evidence base to prove their efficacy. Indeed, it only takes a short surf on the web to discover that the wilder shores of this burgeoning industry are, well, pretty wild.

To the science warriors, this bizarre state of affairs can only be explained by irrationality. They bemoan the state of science education and lament how, contrary to expectation, literacy and access to information have failed to eradicate superstition. Meanwhile, in this increasingly sharply polarised debate, complementary medicine practitioners are equally exasperated by what they see as blinkered scientific reductionism.

So it takes a brave scientist to launch into this territory and risk getting attacked from both camps by daring to ask a simple question: is there anything science can learn from complementary medicine? That is precisely what Kathy Sykes is doing in her current television series, Alternative Therapies (the second programme is on BBC2 tonight). As Bristol University's professor of public engagement in science and the director of the Cheltenham Festival of Science, no one can challenge her credentials as a scientist, yet her scrutiny of particular therapies throws up serious challenges to conventional medicine.

Sykes is too good a scientist to give complementary medicine an easy run. Tonight she examines reflexology, and gives it pretty short shrift. There are 30,000 reflexologists working on a million British feet a year. They base their work on a theory that parts of the sole of the foot correlate to organs in the body. The only problem is that Sykes could find no one, reflexologist or scientist, who could explain how these correlations might work. Furthermore, it turned out that this "ancient" healing system seems to have originated with an imaginative American woman in the 1930s. But patients swear by it. One reflexologist points Sykes to her annual garden party full of babies and children as evidence of the success she has had with infertility problems. This is the point where most scientists snort with derision at the use of personal anecdote as evidence, but Sykes presses on and it takes her into two areas of scientific research. First, she digs up new research on the importance of touch, which can have a profound impact on the brain. Even the hand of a stranger reduces anxiety and that of someone with whom one has a close relationship is even more significant. In fact, Sykes finds some scientific underpinning which goes beyond placebo in many of the therapies she looks at. But it is placebo which emerges as a recurrent and crucially important thread in her quest, and it leads her to the work of several American scientists who are trying to identify what placebo is, who it works for, and why it works.

This is one of the most common charges made against complementary medicine - that most of it is no better than placebo. But there is a way of turning that accusation around: perhaps complementary medicine is an effective way to harness placebo as one of the most powerful - and cheapest - of healing processes. Rather than being derogatory about the phenomenon as "just" placebo, perhaps we should see it as one of the most remarkable and little understood aspects of the human body.

That line of inquiry has taken Sykes to the US several times over the course of the two series she has made. There placebo has become a new frontier in medicine. In a range of studies with startling results - even sham knee surgery can be as effective as the real thing - many factors contribute to placebo: the confidence of the doctor; the social, cultural expectations around the procedure; the empathy and warmth of the patient-doctor relationship; the patient's degree of faith. Get all these right, and the outcome can be remarkable. Harvard professor Ted Kaptchuk is publishing a study this week which shows that placebo is as good as any conventional treatment available for irritable bowel syndrome. Given that the eight most industrialised nations spend $40bn a year on medication for this condition, that's revolutionary stuff.

This kind of research into placebo gives some insight into why complementary medicine has boomed and why there are so many people who cite their own experience to passionately defend it. The average consultation with a GP is 4.6 minutes, while the complementary therapist can devote an hour to taking detailed personal histories. That time and relationship provide a context and an opportunity for the ritual and recasting of personal experience which Kaptchuk believes are the crucial elements of placebo.

Complementary medicine is most popular where conventional medicine fails, such as with musculoskeletal conditions and mental health - stress, depression, anxiety (the recent revelations about the inefficacy of Prozac were another reminder of how shaky the science is in a large area of conventional medicine). Several complementary therapies are particularly effective at pain relief - you had to see Sykes's footage of hypnotism helping a woman to have teeth extracted without anaesthetic to believe it. Kaptchuk argues that pain is not a static given but can be experienced dramatically differently.

Conventional medicine prolongs life but is less successful in prolonging good health - we can expect to spend more years of our life in poor health, as a government report showed last week - and in producing wellbeing. So people are voting with their feet, trying to find other ways to fill the gaps left by conventional medicine. We need scientists to help to identify what they are looking for and why, rather than pouring scorn indiscriminately on the whole field and on the relations between belief, mind and body, of which science still has such a fragmentary understanding."

Our resolve went to pot when the RE said, "I'd like to put back 5, if that's okay with you." We said SUUUURE, Why not? We're suckers for being asked nicely.

They were:

1 9-cell
1 8-cell
2 6-cell
1 5-cell

Since there are 5, we figured basketball names were appropriate. So the embryos are: Jordan, Bird, Barkley, Irving, and Shaq. There were two 3-cell embryos that we didn't transfer, and we don't expect them to make it to freeze.

The grades (which we don't know which score is with which, nor if 1 is highest or lowest on their scale): 2+, 2, 2, 3, 3-

Since she didn't mention it, I asked the RE if Assisted Hatching was used, and she said, "No, I asked the embryologist, and he said it was not necessary," with a hint of surprise in her voice as well. That was a good feeling. She really liked the 9 and 8-cell embryos and said it was a great transfer. She doesn't dispense good news easily, but she was pretty positive about how everything turned out.

Mr. Badger mentioned to the nurse, while I was changing, "No offense, but I really hope we don't have to come back here." The nurse replied, "You both are very sweet, but I hope you don't come back either".

Afterwards, we went to the acupuncturist, and now I am home, waiting for my friend who out of the blue volunteered to be my Lady-in-Waiting who will be here around noon.

Lea Bee is calling me "Possum Mama", reminding me that I am PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise). Welcome to the 2ww my friends.

We still have all the embryos. One 4-cell, one 6-cell, two three cells and the rest are slowing down. The Doc said "we really want to get you pregnant, so we're going to be aggressive and put back 4 if that's alright". Translated - we want to get you and your husband's broke asses out of our offices. Lest you think I feel that way, Mr. Badger and I just said that last line and started cracking up.

And we're okay with the 4. Only two are looking "good" by the doc's estimation, and we have done 4 so-so before.

I'm much crampier than I usually am after retrieval, and same with bloatiness. I even moved to the couch for working yesterday. I think I should take tomorrow off, what do you guys say? My friend D has even graciously offered to be my "lady in waiting" since Mr. Badger will go to work after we get home from everything in the morning. How sweet is that? Just out of the blue.

Transfer is at 8:30, after which I will go right to acupuncture and then bedrest. I'm oddly amused by this whole thing. Seriously, I'm not in a bad mood, I've just got to laugh at the absurdity of all of this. We change the protocol to make the eggs better, and it's now a sperm issue. As Izzie once said, "G-d got a girl pregnant by MAGIC. G-d isn't playing by the rules". So I laugh. It's what we have to keep us sane. Maybe I have finally just lost it.

For the past couple of weeks, my shoulder joints felt irritated, inflamed, and gritty. I continued with my yoga, which didn't seem to help but it didn't hurt, either. I took Advil, which also didn't seem to help. But last night I had a myofascial release massage at Full Circle Wellness, and that helped immensely.

I'd never had this kind of massage before, and didn't know what to expect. It's not your typical full-body feather-stroke Swedish massage. Instead, the therapist focused on my trouble areas, my shoulders and SI joint, and the work included stretching and deep tissue massage. Some of the latter hurt, but not worse than the pain I came in with. And I walked out without that pain, my shoulders feeling amazingly loose and fluid.

What I ate yesterday:

Oatmeal w/ raisins and agave nectar

BBQ chicken wrap w/ lettuce, onion, dill pickle

2 sweet gherkins

Potato chips

Popcorn - 3 qts. w/ parmesan

Yesterday's exercise: nothing worth mentioning

Stem cells are the original (primordial) cells produced in the human body, with the capability to d

Stem cells are the original (primordial) cells produced in the human body, with the capability to differentiate along any line or into any type of cell (totipotent). They divide and multiply within the human body. The first stem cells originate within the developing embryo ( blastocyst). These embryonic stem cells have to ultimately create the entire human body.

Umbilical stem cells are harvested from the umbilical cord of a full term live birth, not from an aborted fetus. This type of stem cell therapy involves the introduction of healthy new stem cells into the body to repair and replace damaged or lost cells.

Many of the so-called “incurable diseases” can be caused by the degeneration of specific cell types in the body.

The use of stem cell medicine was first used in 1956 by Dr. E. Donnall Thomas, a bone marrow transplant specialist. He administered donor adult stem cells to a leukemia patient who went into complete remission.

Dr. Thomas and Joseph E. Murray are co-winners of the 1990 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their contribution on discoveries concerning cell and organ transplantation in the treatment of human diseases.

Cord blood stem cells have been used in the treatment of blood cancers and/or blood diseases since 1988.

In 1988, Elaine Gluckman replaced allogenic cord blood for a bone marrow transplant in order to treat Fanconi’s Anemia, a rare recessive blood disorder. The child remains completely disease free.

In 1998, at the University of Wisconsin, James Thompson isolated the first embryonic stem cells from a blastocyst of a five day old in vitro fertilized egg. This discovery started the scientific movement to do studies, documents, and many debates over the ethical issues surrounding embryo destruction for medical purposes.

In 2001 treatment protocols were developed which permitted the removal of white blood cells from the cord, making the treatment safe with no risk of Graft verse Host Disease. This treatment also proved there is no need for HLA matching.

In 2002, Catherine Verfaillie at the University of Minnesota proved that CD34+ stem cells from bone marrow could repopulate every single cell in a developing mouse. This study started more studies using adult stem cells to generate far more than just blood cells. It became proven there are great potentials for adult stem cells to treat a wide range a blood diseases, cancers, degenerative diseases and injuries.

In 2002, studies were released which proved that adult stem cells have the power to rebuild or reconstruct every cell in the body, not just the blood cells.

In 2004, Duke University published data from a human study confirming the Verfaillie study. The study featured the heart treatment of a boy who received CD34+ stem cells derived from donated cord blood. Not only did the investigation show differentiation to neurons and other cell types, but also proved that cord blood stem cells:

Migrate to the site of disease

Had the ability to differentiate into specialized heart cells

Engraft yielding clinical benefits.

There are several types of Stem Cell Therapies:

MSC only advocates the use of Umbilical Stem Cells derived from donated live full term births.

Whole Cord Blood Stem Cell Therapy- involves the use of stem cells derived from full term births which were donated with informed consent. It is customary that after the birth of a new born child, the hospital destroys the waist products such as the umbilical cord and placenta. When permission is given by the parents, research goes forward and the umbilical cord is sent to the laboratory to be tested for many diseases and the different stem cells are harvested. Unlike embryonic or fetal stem cells, cord stem cells are programmed to rapidly support the development and growth of all body systems, and are pluripotent---capable of differentiating into every single specialized body cell.

Purified and Potentiated Cord Blood Stem Cell Therapy- involves the use of proprietary protocols to remove the white and red blood cells from cord blood leaving only stem cells. This process negates the risk of Graft versus Host Disease and the need for cross matching. Post thaw viability is potentiated with special freeze media.

Embryonic Stem Cells Therapy- involves the use of cells extracted from a five day old in vitro fertilized embryo. The viability of this cell type is limited, because only small numbers of cells can be derived from an embryo, and thus, they need to be expanded in the lab, currently with an animal intermediary, which limits their use in humans. Also, these cell lines are limited for use by government.

Fetal Stem Cell Therapy- involves the use of human fetuses aborted between the first and third months. Retrieval of fetal stem cells in adequate numbers is limited.

Adult Stem Cell Therapy- involves the use of stem cells derived from bone marrow, peripheral blood, and some tissues. Adult stem cells are understood to be 1/1000 as powerful as cord stem cells, since they have endured age stresses, toxicity, and often, disease. Their use is limited by the risk of graft versus host disease, and finding HLA matched donors.

Distinguishing Factors for Our Affiliated Facility’s Use of Cord Stem Cells

* ETHICAL We use human umbilical cords from full term births, with informed consent donations.

* SAFE Cord stem cells used are certified infectious disease free per safety standards of The American Association of Blood Banks, and are purified to minimize graft versus host disease. Donors are screened for congenital/hereditary disorders. Hepatitis B and C, HIV 1 and 2, HTLV, CMV, Syphilis, Fungal/ routine bacterial cultures, and /ABO/Rh testing is done.

* VIABILITY Cord stem cells used have enhanced viability, because of a special freeze media used.

* ENHANCED POTENTIAL Cord stem cells used are selected for their potential to engraft and grow in correlated diseased tissues, and can be genetically enhanced for disease/ tissue/cell/gene specific dysfunctions.

* QUANTIFIED Cord stem cells used are assayed for specific type cell count per vial, and kept frozen with monitored liquid nitrogen storage.

"From flushing down the toilet, that sounds very naive! Ever thought about that governmental instances add those to the water manually, but for good?"

As think about that: From a medical and homeopathic perspective and when seeing the types of medication, antibiotics, stabilizers and sexual hormones, it looks like a quiet support of the health and mood of any American, as when the concentration is so tiny that it does not harm a person at all, the dosage is still high enough to have a positive effect on the human organism, as in homeopathy, one uses very very very tiny dosages of medication to still have an effect, sometimes an even better effect than when using a chemical bomb for cases except real strong diseases. Think about that, don’t always expect negligence or a conspiracy of the government to hurt the nation! In other perspectives you may get an insight on how you are controlled by the goverment, still not in ways where you get hurt, as very tiny dosages stimulate receptors in favorable ways where regular dosages may cause negative effects. Just look over some information about "Homeopathy" and you will see that the article's information reflects on the use of homeopathical ways to cure and keep humans and also animals healthy, e.g. http://www.homeopathyhome.com and http://nccam.nih.gov/health/homeopathy - "Key concepts of homeopathy include:

* Homeopathy seeks to stimulate the body's defense mechanisms and processes so as to prevent or treat illness.

* Treatment involves giving very small doses of substances called remedies that, according to homeopathy, would produce the same or similar symptoms of illness in healthy people if they were given in larger doses.

* Treatment in homeopathy is individualized (tailored to each person). Homeopathic practitioners select remedies according to a total picture of the patient, including not only symptoms but lifestyle, emotional and mental states, and other factors. |

Wikipedia.com: "Three potency scales are in regular use in homeopathy. Hahnemann pioneered and always favoured the centesimal or "C scale", diluting a substance 1 part in a hundred of diluent at each stage. A 2C dilution requires a substance to be diluted to one part in one hundred, then some of that diluted solution is diluted by one part in one hundred. This works out to one part of the original solution to ten thousand parts (100x100) of diluent. A 6C dilution repeats the process six times, ending up with one part in 1,000,000,000,000. (100 × 100 × 100 × 100 × 100 × 100, or 1006) Other dilutions follow the same pattern. In homeopathy, a solution is described as higher potency the more dilute it is. Higher potencies - that is more dilute substances - are considered to be stronger deep-acting remedies." |

The three types of medication mentioned are all not toxins, also think about that, antobiotics to avoid infections, mood stabilizers to create a mental balance and sexual hormones to keep you active with sexual intercause. So why making a big fuzz out of nothing that really hurts you? When you have a child with or a certain disease/illness yourself, than human logic should come up with installing water filters in your home anyway. Thanks, I see not a lot of people even started to think but only follow leads.

Prescription drugs found in drinking water across U.S.

(AP) -- A vast array of pharmaceuticals -- including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones -- have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.

Also, utilities insist their water is safe.

But the presence of so many prescription drugs -- and over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen -- in so much of our drinking water is heightening worries among scientists of long-term consequences to human health.

In the course of a five-month inquiry, the AP discovered that drugs have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas -- from Southern California to Northern New Jersey, from Detroit, Michigan, to Louisville, Kentucky. Map: See the cities where drugs were found in drinking water »

Water providers rarely disclose results of pharmaceutical screenings, unless pressed, the AP found. For example, the head of a group representing major California suppliers said the public "doesn't know how to interpret the information" and might be unduly alarmed.

How do the drugs get into the water?

People take pills. Their bodies absorb some of the medication, but the rest of it passes through and is flushed down the toilet. The wastewater is treated before it is discharged into reservoirs, rivers or lakes. Then, some of the water is cleansed again at drinking water treatment plants and piped to consumers. But most treatments do not remove all drug residue.

And while researchers do not yet understand the exact risks from decades of persistent exposure to random combinations of low levels of pharmaceuticals, recent studies -- which have gone virtually unnoticed by the general public -- have found alarming effects on human cells and wildlife.

A 'growing concern'

"We recognize it is a growing concern and we're taking it very seriously," said Benjamin H. Grumbles, assistant administrator for water at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Members of the AP National Investigative Team reviewed hundreds of scientific reports, analyzed federal drinking water databases, visited environmental study sites and treatment plants and interviewed more than 230 officials, academics and scientists. Watch more about what's in our drinking water »

They also surveyed the nation's 50 largest cities and a dozen other major water providers, as well as smaller community water providers in all 50 states.

Here are some of the key test results obtained by the AP:

• Officials in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, said testing there discovered 56 pharmaceuticals or byproducts in treated drinking water, including medicines for pain, infection, high cholesterol, asthma, epilepsy, mental illness and heart problems. Sixty-three pharmaceuticals or byproducts were found in the city's watersheds.

• Anti-epileptic and anti-anxiety medications were detected in a portion of the treated drinking water for 18.5 million people in Southern California.

• Researchers at the U.S. Geological Survey analyzed a Passaic Valley Water Commission drinking water treatment plant, which serves 850,000 people in Northern New Jersey, and found a metabolized angina medicine and the mood-stabilizing carbamazepine in drinking water.

• A sex hormone was detected in the drinking water of San Francisco, California.

• The drinking water for Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas tested positive for six pharmaceuticals.

The situation is undoubtedly worse than suggested by the positive test results in the major population centers documented by the AP.

Testing not required

The federal government doesn't require any testing and hasn't set safety limits for drugs in water.

Of the 62 major water providers contacted, the drinking water for only 28 was tested. Among the 34 that haven't: Houston, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Miami, Florida; Baltimore, Maryland; Phoenix, Arizona; Boston, Massachusetts; and New York City's Department of Environmental Protection, which delivers water to 9 million people.

Some providers screen for only one or two pharmaceuticals, leaving open the possibility that others are present.

The AP's investigation also indicates that watersheds, the natural sources of most of the nation's water supply, also are contaminated. Tests were conducted in the watersheds of 35 of the 62 major providers surveyed by the AP, and pharmaceuticals were detected in 28.

Yet officials in six of those 28 metropolitan areas said they did not go on to test their drinking water -- Fairfax, Virginia; Montgomery County in Maryland; Omaha, Nebraska; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Santa Clara, California; and New York City.

The New York state health department and the USGS tested the source of the city's water, upstate. They found trace concentrations of heart medicine, infection fighters, estrogen, anti-convulsants, a mood stabilizer and a tranquilizer.

City water officials declined repeated requests for an interview. In a statement, they insisted that "New York City's drinking water continues to meet all federal and state regulations regarding drinking water quality in the watershed and the distribution system" -- regulations that do not address trace pharmaceuticals.

In several cases, officials at municipal or regional water providers told the AP that pharmaceuticals had not been detected, but the AP obtained the results of tests conducted by independent researchers that showed otherwise.

Of the 28 major metropolitan areas where tests were performed on drinking water supplies, only Albuquerque, New Mexico; Austin, Texas; and Virginia Beach, Virginia, said tests were negative. The drinking water in Dallas, Texas, has been tested, but officials are awaiting results. Arlington, Texas, acknowledged that traces of a pharmaceutical were detected in its drinking water but cited post-9/11 security concerns in refusing to identify the drug.

The AP also contacted 52 small water providers -- one in each state, and two each in Missouri and Texas -- that serve communities with populations around 25,000. All but one said their drinking water had not been screened for pharmaceuticals; officials in Emporia, Kansas, refused to answer AP's questions, also citing post-9/11 issues.

Rural, bottled water also unchecked

Rural consumers who draw water from their own wells aren't in the clear either, experts say.

Even users of bottled water and home filtration systems don't necessarily avoid exposure. Bottlers, some of which simply repackage tap water, do not typically treat or test for pharmaceuticals, according to the industry's main trade group. The same goes for the makers of home filtration systems.

Contamination is not confined to the United States. More than 100 different pharmaceuticals have been detected in lakes, rivers, reservoirs and streams throughout the world. Studies have detected pharmaceuticals in waters throughout Asia, Australia, Canada and Europe -- even in Swiss lakes and the North Sea.

In the United States, the problem isn't confined to surface waters. Pharmaceuticals also permeate aquifers deep underground, the source of 40 percent of the nation's water supply. Federal scientists who drew water in 24 states from aquifers near contaminant sources such as landfills and animal feed lots found minuscule levels of hormones, antibiotics and other drugs.

Perhaps it's because Americans have been taking drugs -- and flushing them unmetabolized or unused -- in growing amounts. Over the past five years, the number of U.S. drug prescriptions rose 12 percent to a record 3.7 billion, while nonprescription drug purchases held steady around 3.3 billion, according to IMS Health and The Nielsen Co.

Medications not all absorbed

"People think that if they take a medication, their body absorbs it and it disappears, but of course that's not the case," said EPA scientist Christian Daughton, one of the first to draw attention to the issue of pharmaceuticals in water in the United States.

Some drugs, including widely used cholesterol fighters, tranquilizers and anti-epileptic medications, resist modern drinking water and wastewater treatment processes. Plus, the EPA says there are no sewage treatment systems specifically engineered to remove pharmaceuticals.

Veterinary drugs also play a role. Pets are now treated for a wide range of ailments -- sometimes with the same drugs as humans. The inflation-adjusted value of veterinary drugs rose by 8 percent, to $5.2 billion, over the past five years, according to an analysis of data from the Animal Health Institute.

Ask the pharmaceutical industry whether the contamination of water supplies is a problem, and officials will tell you no.

"Based on what we now know, I would say we find there's little or no risk from pharmaceuticals in the environment to human health," said microbiologist Thomas White, a consultant for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.

But at a conference last summer, Mary Buzby -- director of environmental technology for drug maker Merck & Co. Inc. -- said: "There's no doubt about it, pharmaceuticals are being detected in the environment and there is genuine concern that these compounds, in the small concentrations that they're at, could be causing impacts to human health or to aquatic organisms."

Recent laboratory research has found that small amounts of medication have affected human embryonic kidney cells, human blood cells and human breast cancer cells. The cancer cells proliferated too quickly; the kidney cells grew too slowly; and the blood cells showed biological activity associated with inflammation.

Also, pharmaceuticals in waterways are damaging wildlife across the nation and around the globe, research shows. Notably, male fish are being feminized, creating egg yolk proteins, a process usually restricted to females. Pharmaceuticals also are affecting sentinel species at the foundation of the pyramid of life -- such as earthworms in the wild and zooplankton in the laboratory, studies show.

Wildlife problems troubling

Some scientists stress that the research is extremely limited, and there are too many unknowns. They say, though, that the documented health problems in wildlife are disconcerting.

To the degree that the EPA is focused on the issue, it appears to be looking at detection. Grumbles acknowledged that just late last year the agency developed three new methods to "detect and quantify pharmaceuticals" in wastewater.

"We realize that we have a limited amount of data on the concentrations," he said. "We're going to be able to learn a lot more."

So much is unknown. Many independent scientists are skeptical that trace concentrations will ultimately prove to be harmful to humans. There's growing concern in the scientific community, though, that certain drugs -- or combinations of drugs -- may harm humans over decades because water, unlike most specific foods, is consumed in sizable amounts every day.

Our bodies may shrug off a relatively big one-time dose, yet suffer from a smaller amount delivered continuously over a half century, perhaps subtly stirring allergies or nerve damage. Pregnant women, the elderly and the very ill might be more sensitive.

"We know we are being exposed to other people's drugs through our drinking water, and that can't be good," says Dr. David Carpenter, who directs the Institute for Health and the Environment of the State University of New York at Albany. E-mail to a friend

First, like you, I would be uninterested in a group a males that sets up a pornsite to have some "fun" and some income on the side...right, those guys really do not benefit your good situation and obviously play only games while smoking pot and taking whatever drugs and also want you to do the same and mostly still let their mothers wash their cloths or would want you to do this, well damn straight guys, but really just gays sitting on the schemes of the pastime. As I hate this and you hate this too, read on...as here I read, for the first time, something that is not related to scams. Something that is the type of profile for a Adult Magazine like Playboy or Penthouse.

The case is, nowadays a lot of pornsites offer you:

The Beauty of the devil, what means, girls that are really not good looking but sexually attractive due they have a big ass, big tits, a lot of ugliness and take more than one cock at a time, and those desperately must be the hugest one, called the big gonzo!
Okay, this is a niche that becomes bigger and bigger and it is acceptable for others when they need this than they shall do this and "to each it's own"!

But, here, you will find girls where you never could imagine they are still virgins...yet you may have been dreaming of girls still being virgins but here it is about the case that a girl is still a virgin where you always thought this girl must be a slut...plus, they first show you the virginity onlne and than you will see, in various ways, their exciting defloration..if with my cock, my hands, some dildos or even with gynecological methods...also this is a niche but in this niche it is about sweet cool matters....But here, from your perspective there, will also some very important and huge additional differences be present...between this and all the other Lesbian Lust Websites on the Web...Some differences you will see as soon the gates to this Project open! It will take some time to establish a Porn Site that is not fast made and half the real deal, so be warned, you will see a Website that is worth to be called quality...

THX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DON'T SEND FRIEND INVITES, ALL FRIEND INVITES OVER YOUTUBE WILL BE REJECTED!!!!!

IMPORTANT NOTICE! To a 100% only white U.S. American and Western European Girls, with an original Western U.S. and European Heritage. Here, only the real Western girls, not the fake ones that came to the West for the money and a better life with the money they want to get with being like whores, only the real ones will here show their sweet spots also to you....here is it not the money but the pink honey! Also no Superhot nervers that always want to rule over others and never even have a wet pussy, as their anger on life in general is too much dominating their behaviour in any aspect of what they want a life to be...No Soared Bitches with no love in their lives as love means also to give....Only the loving nice, sweet, caring and polite girls that are never into relationships of the regular kind and nerve others with their goal to fight for others and their not necessary existence. Here, not one girl will act like a rude female bull like "I hate you but I want to have Sex with you, I do not love you but you are horny" in a way of acne shooting one in the face combined with hate on themselves not being balanced but hedged into immature rudeness...Because to love in sexual context means to have Sexual Intercause, to like a person would be a discussion about something relevant...., here it is non-aggressive love with the need to fuck!!! The Girls inhere will not be concerning potheads, will be no junkies, no hidden communists and guerilla lovers, no junkies, drug free clean minds and the same with their bodies...As here it is also about real personality, not about huge tits, big ass and stupid minds...The more intelligent and less experienced you sexually are, the more are you, as a girl, standing for the attitudes of SugarSweetBabes.com, as you stand for the same:

Once I was in a Bar in Arizona, for the ones who do not know this Arizona, this is a state in the

Once I was in a Bar in Arizona, for the ones who do not know this Arizona, this is a state in the U.S.A. located on the lower right part of California and on the left side of the state New Mexico, where New Mexico is located between the states Arizona and Texas. Arizona also borders Mexico and the state of Utah above it plus Nevada with 1/2 of the border lenght it is sharing with California.

Before I was in this particular Bar on this particular day, I also visited other sites of this state and also took a ride, that means I drove with my car over some of the Interstates, Interstates are "Bundesstraßen" for the ones who are Germans and do not know the term Interstate. The map below shows major interstates where also smaller ones exist that are not shown on this map!

While I drove on one of those smaller arms of Interstates one day, I really saw untouched natural spots on the sides of the Interstate route and it was more exciting than driving through the cities, that is for sure. Unfortunately I have no pictures of that but have some of spots where I was not driving but making a rest. Still I have to say that nature along these interstates is more rural and more interesting to look at, as when having a break at some spots where people live etc., as on these sides of the interstates I drove that day, it became really a feeling of "Do not walk over the lawn", one literally got the feeling that one is not worth as a white man to walk over these areas where cactiee and plants formed a world of another kind for which I have a lot of respect. Those were not pure desert spots like some think Arizona is made of completely. So to say, for a vacation or as a second residency state, Arizona is the perfect fit. But to live there and to raise children, I do not know, the beauty often misleads minds.

But when I was at this one bar one day, I met, among others, two drunk persons. one was a white male, the other one an Indian male, a Native American. Both were drunk and we had some talk about the white man and the wifes of the white men that steal the white man to be with another white man and the world in general. So the white male told me his wife left him with two children, one daughter and one son, now he is in massive money problems as he also has to pay for his children and is a veteran, maybe, I do not remember and everyone who wears camo isn't automatically a veteran. Well, both males know each other and the Indian takes care of the white man to avoid the white man commiting suicide as he is broke. So the Indian man knows that the white man has two children and a wife that ran away as he was simply too lazy and stupid. So at walk-out of the bar we still were talking and suddenly the Indian came with some deep sounding Indian wisdom to share with me, about unborn children one has, I supposed first, but as it came up the point that, "You have two children, one daughter and one son!" it became nonsense and not wisdom. Well, first I have no children and second his buddy he takes care of has those in a combination like he told me I shall have. So, easy said, not every Indian has Indian wisdom or Indian visions but more comes with pure Indian Nonsense!

Now is the time some simple "propaganda", but take out what you think may be right in some cases and always stay yourself, when Indians fight for their right to celebrate their culture, than a real one does not even think about having a relationship of any kind with a woman of another race when it means for them to be real Indians they say they are!

GOT IT? NOW FINALLY IT SEEMS SO AND SAME SHOULD YOU DO, WHEN INDIANS FIGHT FOR THE DECAY OF THEIR CULTURE, THAN DO YOU TOO WITH NOT SURROUNDING YOURSELF E.G. WITH BLACK MUSIC WHEN YOU ARE WHITE, SIMPLY SAID! HERE IT IS NOT ABOUT RACISM, BUT SAME LIKE WITH INDIANS WHO SEE THEY LOSE THEIR SPIRIT DUE INFLUENCES FROM OUTSIDE, THAN YOU SHOULD FEEL YOU LOSE YOUR SPIRIT DUE SAME TYPE OF INFLUENCES FROM OUTSIDE WHEN SURROUNDING YOURSELF WITH INFLUENCES THAT ARE NOT YOUR ORIGIN AND MOST IMPORTANT, THE BEST WAY TO CO-EXIST PEACEFULLY AS WHITE AND INDIANS, ONE NEEDS RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER'S CULTURE, I RESPECT THEIR CULTURE AND ALSO AM NOT IN ANY WAY INTERESTED TO DESTROY THEIR SPIRIT BUT AWAIT SAME FROM THEM IN REGARDS TO MY CULTURE! AND AS SOME OF THEM OFTEN NAME THE WHITE EUROPEAN SPIRIT AS THE ONLY REASON FOR THAT, NOT MEANING WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST BUT TODAY WITH BEING AGAINST TECHNOLOGY, GENETICS AND SCIENCES, HERE I GO WITH SOME MEAN REVENGE ON THEM, STILL ONLY IN WRITTEN WORDS AND ALSO NEVER IN ANY OTHER WAY, BUT WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THAT OFTEN A WHOLE NATION IS JUDGED FOR THE BAD HABITS OF ONE MAN WHO IS PART OF THIS CULTURE, THAN I NOW DO THE SAME AND SAY ALL INDIANS JUST WANT TO GET A WHITE GIRL IN BED FOR ONE TIME, TO LAUGH AND JOKE ABOUT HER MOANING WITH THE WHOLE VILLAGE!!!

RIGHT OR WRONG? THERE IS NO ANSWER, AS WHAT ONE THINKS IS OFTEN EXACTLY THIS BUT ONLY SOME ACT THIS WAY!

Start of propaganda message.

"As today, also all Indians are more into that! So girls, take care, they wonna sell you the spirit for a ride in your clit! Than they rip you out the hymen while you are lying high on drugs, crying and screaming, behind a store for beer kegs and how to make beer at home...After they stole your virginity, they simply go home to the squaw they really love and make fun with her about you, the slutty white bitch who always wanted an Indian and now cries for Mommy and Daddy, but is too scared to tell them an Indian was it, so Aaron there, the twisted guy from the IT-College in Tempe, get him Police Man and kick his ass right into "Joe's Tent City"! (Tent City is a prison in the desert established and / or operated by Maricopa County Sherriff Joseph Arpaio, (The Author of this article does not stand in any beneficial relationship with the operators of this facility!)...Well, still sad for her, now the viginity is away and the real white man she always wanted on place number 2 will not more be interested in a restored hymen from the next hymen clinic....Even more sad, that now she has endless pain and endless psychotic problems in her life and also man number 2 she always wanted after the Idians and their Gangbang, who is even becoming a psychotherapist will not be interested to cure her or to even hear one word from the girl who was in love with the Indian Rapists...!"

End of the propaganda Message.

And when you google for ASU Cheerleaders, ASU is the state college than you will immediately find some cheerleaders with a cock in each hand, one in the mouth, one in the ass and one in the cunt, maybe some more below their ankles and between their feet, when looking without safesearch. So you see, Arizona is "THE" Hill-Billy State when it comes to this topic and to get a girl for some fast fun should not be hard but so easy that it is already boring and to know the girl takes a new one in every hole of her body on every day of her life is not very interesting when it comes to the topic of first discovery of a particular girl's sexual regions that are than already super wided and red from daily ongoing penetration plus the sexual diseases and the community knows the girl you like or even love as the one with the big vagina as everyone had her already including her father, as parental incest is not a problem at all, but great fun and the horse also is a good thing to have some fun with, so animal sex is nothing but sexual activity but those girls feel nothing but "mind is away, suck, suck, suck, get cock, cock, cock", so there you won't ever find love as "What is love, love, love, I want fun, fun, fun". And I also hate these girls as it makes no sense to spend time with them or to even think about starting a real relationship with such "individuals" as those want to marry when they are "ready", when they have been taken by a mixed herd of man, woman, children, parents, horses and cattle and maybe some dogs and other minor and major animals too..." I hope they find a stupid male virgin than, they can marry, as guys like me, no, thank you, I know you and can afford also others where I find a closed world and not a life under the sun...and it's negative effects on the human brain and mind, I really do not have to explain, the result you see below and also the reason you see below:

It can be the sun, some say, that shines so high and so intense that people act like others say you act only in nonsense. So when you really want to marry the typical Arizonan Hill-Billy Woman, you must be ready that her daddy and brother sometimes come along and she than goes down on her knees, they open their pants and share some real family love where a kiss would only be a shame to what such deep serious and mature love is...As when you go down from beauty in the face to "beauty of the vagina" of such a girl than you will not find this as beauty but as some undefineable thing that is not more closed in any way, but a steady open "pisshole" that looks like one of a woman who just delivered a triple of children through Vagina and Asshole. I never started and never would start a discussion with such girl about this unless we'd be big friends and I had her as the first and can now say that she really messed up her body with that "mature and wise treatment" of her sensual regions. I am more into the type of females that are more "brain region is thinking and controlling lust combined with a beautiful body". There I must say, I you now know immediately think I mean you and this is because I saw you, that I am most interested in the female body type, where some people say they are not interested as they use terms like "You have a too flat ass, your legs are to thin and your jeans in the middle of your legs does not make a hill type impression". There I say, "You have such a sweet tiny ass, such sweet perfect thin legs, such perfectly flat vaginal region, if you now have big tits or same tiny tits, it does not matter, as I like or love you with small tits that make a perfectly horny fit to your body or with large, big tits that make such a horny contrast when you'd pose naked!" I am also into other proportions when it comes to girls, but I know that I really love the ones that are shy for real and not stupid and also love it when I say, I love you just because you are not the stereotype girl with big ass, big tits and big mouth...

DON'T TOUCH THE WOMAN ABOVE, SHE IS CRAZY!!!

And when it comes to Indians, only some still are the ones that one calls Indians with real wisdom. The others are on Firewater!

In my last post, I classified different forms of alternative therapy into two main categories. While you familiarize yourself with information on these subjects, its always great to understand it at its core without spending too much time. In the early stages of spiritual learning, we usually delve into many practices associated with ancient ritualistic or Shamanic beliefs. A lot many claim the powers of gemstones, sun catchers, smudging with dried sage, etc, due to their ancient spiritual connect. Even though these concepts diminished in the past, it has now regained its spot in the holistic market place. There is a good reason for why they believe it works.

~'they believe'~

Belief is the only ingredient common in all therapies. If you believe that it will work, it will. However, over time, it makes sense to believe in the ultimate life force; the consciousness behind any therapeutic belief: 'Yourself'; i.e. your true inner self. Some holistic healers may deny this but the secret really is that these therapies only work when 'you' believe it.

~reality check on different forms of therapy~

As you make your way through understanding holistic forms of therapy from various people and sources, it will be like walking into an auto mall. Every car is the best car and every car salesman wants you to have it. Like always, what matters is how you feel when you drive it. The only way to know this is to either try them all or stick with what resonates with yourself and your daily life style. If you like music, then its easy to point out that sound therapy will work well for you. All these forms of alternative therapy concentrate on healing using the non physical energy system - your emotions.

~synopsis of each therapy~
(in alphabetical order - use CTRL-F to quickly find topics)

In the last post I classified the different forms of therapy. Here is a quick run down with its core essence laid out.
Thumb Rule:
a. Anything that helps de-stress and soothe the mind is considered therapeutic.
b. There is a fine line between therapeutic use and addiction. Addiction issues when recognized can be resolved using these forms of therapy as well.

AcuEnergetics:
Same as Chakra Therapy in a nutshell. Its also known as Harmonics Energy Balance. Therapists use a concepts in Chakra therapy to heal. The basic principles are the same but with a different name. Read on Chakra Therapy in this post.

Acupressure:
In the first part I mentioned that our astral / emotional body is attached to our physical body at various points along its length. These points have various names as chakras, pressure points, vortexes, psychic centers, meridians, energy centers, etc. Acupressure is associated with applying physical pressure to these points and transferring emotional energy, chi or prana through fingers unblocking the blocked chakra. Hands are considered healing agents in every form of physical contact therapy. Pressure points are gateways that channel healing energies to the main chakras. You would need to understand the concept of chakras before this entirely makes sense. Try this link healing.about.com for some basic clarity on chakras.

Acupuncture:
This is very similar to acupressure; the only difference being the use of pricks via pins or needles at the same points. This is also called Meridian Healing. Medicine.net has a great FAQ on this subject.

Aromatherapy:
Its the therapy where the use of scents from essential oils are used to heal certain common ailments. This educational site offers some great information on some more basics and is worth a quick glance.

Astral Projection:
Healing through Astral Projection or Astral Travel usually works by just understanding the experience of the non physical universe. The other term for it is 'Out of body experience' or soul travel. This is the phenomenon of your soul or mind leaving your body. Some use Astral Projection to perform a Past Life Memory investigation which can be very healing. It helps to understand how one may suffer certain trying disorders in spite of medication. For the most part, it helps with building confidence in the greater purpose of life and karma.

Auric Healing (Aura Healing):
Auras are created by the energies from each chakra. The strength of an aura reflects the emotional IQ of the person. Better the Aura, better the E-IQ. The basic principles for healing are the same as Chakra Therapy. Read on Chakra Therapy in this post.

Chakra Therapy (Chakra Balancing):
If you have read about chakras from part 1 of this post, you would understand that the mental or astral body has 7 chakras along the length of a person's physical body. Each of these 7 points are associated with emotional and physiological illness that represents a physical organ or gland. Before a physical illness appears, an emotional illness is considered to be the cause of the fall in bodily defenses. Chakra therapy is the foundation of every other therapy. Further information can be found from the combination of both these sites Astral Mate & The School of Tantra. On a another note, there is a correlation between Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and The Chakra System (highlighted by Norwick Gray).

Cognitive Therapy:
Also called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the focal point is tuning emotions and hence the outcome of thoughts. The targeted outcome is to change the way we think. Most therapists use this method to help clients empower themselves to solve their emotional issues. It goes by many names: Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Rational Behavior Therapy, Rational Living Therapy, Cognitive Therapy and Dialectic Behavior Therapy. The National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists have a quick read on this subject. This form of therapy does not specifically aim at resolving physical illness.

Color Therapy:
The same as chakra therapy but using colors to heal. Certain colors tend to magnify certain emotions or the lack of it. By understanding the need for certain colors you understand personal issues that one faces and its physical consequence. Gemstones therapy is a subset of color therapy and color therapy is a subset of chakra therapy. For example, if your favorite color is blue, it indicates that you might have issues speaking up or being open and frank with people. Here's a link to a chart in Chakra Therapy; each color representing physical ailments and emotional symptoms. Please refer to Chakra Therapy in this post for additional info.

Crystal Healing:
Read on Gemstone Therapy in this post.

Energy Balancing:
Read up on Chakra Therapy. Its the same base concept.

Exorcism:
Please read up on Spirit Releasement Therapy in this post.

Expressive Therapy:
A form of therapy that is targeted to clear blockages in the 5th or throat chakra. The 5th chakra represents innermost creative expression. Expression can occur in any creative form; through writing, dance, vocals, music, painting, craft, sculpting, architecting, etc. The Wikipedia has great examples on this subject.

Food Therapy:
A process using healing properties of various natural foods to cure ailments. I dug out this site (natali.co.uk) that has an illness to food matches.

Gemstone Therapy:
The concept of gemstone therapy arises from the theory of color therapy. Color therapy in turn associates its roots from Chakra therapy. This article clearly describes the roots of Gemstone Therapy. However, these forms of therapy creates dependencies on external objects; its best to resolve emotional issues associated with each unbalanced chakra to completely balance self.

Gestalt Therapy:
The concepts in Gestalt Therapy served to evolve into NLP. See NLP in this post. More history here @ wikipedia.

Guided Imagery
Visualizations that use the imagination to heal both mind and body. It boils down to restoring balance in every chakra using the third eye or 6th chakra (ajna). Since the obvious form of modality here is using the mind to heal, it brings focus to Chakra therapy as the base foundation for identifying symptoms, emotional causes and implementing fixes. Eupsychia has some good information on definitions and how-to.

Harmonics Energy Balancing:
Read up on Chakra Therapy. Its the same base concept.

Hecatean Projection
A type of astral projection where one gets projected into a negative emotional area made of fear, hate, jealousy, anger and other remaining deadly sins. It is definitely not therapeutic. Read up on astral projection for more information on how projections can be therapeutic.

Energy Healing with Chi, Ruah, Prana:
Chi, Ruah or Prana refer to the same energy: 'emotions'. Since Chakra therapy is about healing using emotions, please refer to chakra therapy for details.

Herbal Therapy:
The use of twigs, leaves, flowers or the entire plant to create healing teas, soups, powders or just skin patches. Ancient Ayurvedic Medicine from India and Herbology in witchcraft are such forms of herbal therapy. Herb to disease matching can be found here (herbsandcures.com).

Homeopathy:
Just like the other forms of therapy, this form of therapy is targeted at the same emotional energy system in the body. The National Center for Complimentary Medicine has explained this concept pretty well. Homeopaths use the concept of 'like attracts like', which is the 'Law of Attraction'.

Hypnotherapy:
Using hypnosis to heal mental and physical conditions. While most sites explain it as using alternate states of your consciousness to heal, these consciousness could be your own, or your Higher Self (spirit guides / guardian angels), or vampiric consciousness that linger from a previous incarnation. New age movements see this as your past consciousness (egos) or other vampiric consciousness creating blockages against self healing. By engaging these consciousnesses and walking through causations of their own emotional blockages, the emotional block in the client clears. As per chakra therapy, these forms of emotional blockages cause physical illnesses; and by clearing these, physical balance is eventually restored.

Landscape Therapy:
Watching natural serenity in pictures, photo slides or in person can have a very soothing effect on your mind. A combination of the sounds of nature, its panaromic views and the natural smell of the earth does relax one's mind. This is achieved through slide shows as well. That's all that this form of therapy is - a relaxation technique engaging the visual senses through color combinations and visualizations.

Light Body Activation:
Same as Chakra Therapy in a nutshell. For more details on how this therapy is practiced, read up on an article by Laughing Life coach and Merkaba.

Massage Therapy:
Any form of physical contact therapy aimed at relaxation through overall body massage falls under this category. The names & techniques are aplenty. A consolidated list can be obtained here at Wikipedia.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming):
Mostly used in Professional and Self success management, this self empowerment technique is a very high level and neutral form of therapy used to perform self analysis and self rectification. This is best for skeptics who do not wish to engage in understanding spiritual therapy as the core of every alternative therapy. This form of therapy is not designed to heal physical illnesses either. The best source for NLP info is NLP.com. However, if you have faced a road block after using NLP, I suggest investigating the spiritual aspects that form the core of this training.

Past Life Regression Healing (PLR):
This is hypnosis on 'steroids' (without the use of any steroids of course). If you haven't familiarized yourself with the concepts of hypnotherapy in this post, please do before moving forward. PLR is consciously knowing that you have lived in previous lives hence using hypnosis or trance to go back into those lifetimes. The healing effect comes into play when one understands his or her karmic debts from a past life. Past life negative karma's can cause emotional blockages in any or many of the 7 chakras. By understanding and overcoming these emotional blockages, one can heal the physical and mental self. A clear and simple read can be found here. The site HealPastlives.com is considered to be one of the best sites detailing Past Life Regression Healing.

Pranic Healing:
Read up on Chakra Therapy. Its the same base concept.

Physical Fitness Form of Therapy:
A therapy involving Endorphin release through cardiovascular exercises. It may be assisted with weight training. I personally use the site exrx.net to learn and plan my routine.

Reflexology:
This falls under Massage / Touch therapy and attempts chakra balancing by applying pressure only at end points - hands, feet or ears. Wikipedia hosts a great article on this subject.

Shamanic Healing (Shamans):
Healing through the knowledge of the village medicine men or tribal witch doctors. They use a variety of healing methods that include herbal therapy, soul retrieval (past life regression healing), gemstone therapy (color therapy using gemstones), exorcism (using hypnotherapy) and spirit assistance (assisting consciousness in the afterlife). In the true meaning of the word 'shamans', alternative therapists are shamans as well. Its just a broad term encompassing various forms of therapy.

Sound Therapy (Mantra Therapy):
This form of therapy is closely tied to Chakra Therapy where the 7 musical notes (or mantras or chanting) assist in healing various ailments. Try this site (elivia.com) for detailed information and downloadable music notes. On another note, any sound or music that puts your mind at ease comes under this form of therapy. Most musical tunes have all 7 notes. You don't really need to buy any expensive relaxation CD that claims wonders. Other forms of sound therapy are listed here (biowaves.com). It also include binaural beats from Monroe's Institute of Hemisync Research.

Soul Retrieval:
It is healing using Past Life Regression. Please read on PLR in this post. A great note on soul retrieval by another author can be found here.

Spirit Releasement Therapy (Spirit Intrusion):
Also known as exorcism, this therapy involves identifying spirit consciousnesses that affect your current life. Known mental illnesses associated with these are schizophrenia, personality or identity disorders. The intruding spirits are identified and confronted through hypnotherapy aided with concepts in past life regression. Shamanic healers are known for healing this. I've had fairly good success with the help of psychics as well; although the information was a bit obscure and left for interpretation.
The spirits that linger around are dissatisfied emotional remains of physical people from your previous lives or in some extreme cases 'wandering spirits' that may not be related directly to you. Wandering spirits are easier to release and this can be termed as spirit assistance ( I wrote about spirit assistance in one of my posts here.) However, releasing spirits from your past lives require a little more work; work mostly on your part. These spirits are normally upset with you for a reason unknown to you in this lifetime; past life regression gives great insight on this reason. In most cases, these spirits are past life egos of your own consciousness itself; i.e. unsatisfied version(s) of your previous life. Schizophrenics are one example of this. Their unsatisfied spirit of a previous life constantly intrude and try to quickly resolve what has remained as unfinished business before they had physically died then. In all cases they use negative ways to achieve this; these include hate, anger, pride, self denial, greed, jealousy or any form of an insecure belief. Then there are those affected with personality disorders like MPD or DID. These folks are usually involuntary spirit mediums who host other consciousness in their physical body without control or knowledge. The only way to release these spirits in these cases requires complete the karmic debt payback. The time frame can be as long as paying back house loan payments. Hang in there and seek help from past life regression hypnotherapists on what you may have done in your last life to undergo this pain.

Talk Therapy:
It is just talking about your emotional issues. Please read up on Cognitive Therapy in this post. The definitions vary at various sites but if you look at all of it closely, you will find the commonality.

Taste Therapy:
Therapy through taste has not yet been researched to a great extent. As stated, there are 6 tastes: sweet, bitter, sour, astringent, spicy hot & salty; this page talks about taste therapy and its association with healing.

Tantric Sex:
Sex in general is the most commonly played sport among humans. I hope we all agree that in the mammal world alone, it is the common form of 'physical' evolution (excluding artificial means). Fortunately, sex assists in mental evolution as well. Tantric sex is exactly what this is all about; mental / spiritual evolution through sex (i.e. maturity through sex). During a tantric orgasm, emotional energy or chi / prana flows up your spine inducing a fulfilling effect; which is why some have chills right after or during orgasms. As the chi rises, it clears blockages in all chakras having a healing effect. It is a self transforming process with the aim to finally achieve the art of making love in its purest form. The sole intent evolves into pleasing the other by attending to their every sexual and emotional desire. At every age, tantric sex heals, vitalizes and rejuvenates mind and body. Discovery Health has a good 5 page article on techniques and effects. I highly recommend this read.
