But the truth is that contacts and glasses are both super uncomfortable. So I thought i would post about some tips to making contact lenses a bit more comfortable.

The first thing to consider is contact lense care. Cleaning your is a bit of a hassle to do it, but it's very important to make it routine. If you buy a "Non Rub" slution it will make it a lot easier. Also, don't get cheap solution or cleaner to save $2. It's totally worth it to get a good brand since you're putting these things in your eyes. Besides, a big bottle of solution is like $7 and lasts about a month, so you're not breaking the bank. Plus it helps reduce risk of eye problems that are inherant to contact wearing.

Next, don't clean your case with soap or water. It dries it ourt and can screw up your contacts. It's better just to rinse it out with "no rub" solution.

And carry eyedrops with you just in case. In windy places it can get pretty bad and a little bottle of eyedrops makes all the difference.

Some people have a hard time with contacts around cigarettes. The best solution to that is don't smoke. And don't hang around people that smoke.

These tips should help out a lot, and make your experience with contacts a bit more pleasant.

You can get them from a few places online or pick some up at a novelty shop. they usually run you between $25 and $40 per pair, but it's well worth it since you have so many options. And they go with anything. I will post later to let everyone know what I think of the glowing contacts. I'm not sure what brand I'll try first.

One of the things I love Too Faced for is their ability to be fun and kicky but remain classy. As I get older and finally grow into my adult responsibility (sort of), I try to evolve and keep my style on course with my age. Too Faced offers products that help me look smartly put together while still having a little crazy fun.

One of their products that helps me do that is Starry Eyed Liquid Liner ($17.50). Liquid liners packed with micro glitter, these are perfect for a little extra pop during the day, or a lot at night. A quick pass of Gold Digger right at your lash line gives a brightening look to your typical bronze shadow. It gave my eyes an open happy look, without being over the top. One swipe gives a twinkling shine without screaming “HELLO, I’M WEARING GLITTER!”, or add a few more layers for a bold, eye catching disco ball effect. Unlike a lot of micro-glitter eye products, Starry Eyed doesn’t irritate my eyes, and I appreciate that I can wear something I love without my eyes ending up goopy and itchy for once. Is it the addition of calming cucumber or soothing carrot that does it? Heck if I know, but I can tell you it’s a fantastic formula all around! It’s not quite as fast drying as you hope, but a quick shot of cool air from my hair dryer takes care of that. Be sure to let it dry all the way before opening your peepers wide, or you’ll end up with glitter on your upper eyelid all day long because the staying power is awesome.

Too Faced has a perfect product in their Mirror Mirror Lip Gloss ($16). Beautiful tints of color with amazing shine. It seems like it should be thick and sticky, especially to those of us accustomed to MAC’s Lipglass, but the light, smooth formula has not a hint of stick to be found. Super shiny and gorgeous, one glance in the mirror makes me feel ready to strut my stuff, especially with a color name like “Damn I’m Hot”. Yes, yes I am, and don’t you forget it honey .These are so easy to throw on over a lip liner for more color, and the light scent with lack of an added flavor makes them a real pleasure to wear.

Holiday party season is swiftly approaching. These are an easy way to add a little bit of glamor to your party outfits. Or your work outfits. Or your grocery shopping outfits for that matter. So, today after a full eye exam, I picked out two understated pairs of glasses to be worn for close work, reading, working on my pc, watching TV etc.

They'll be ready tomorrow! I'll post a pic of me wearing said items tomorrow night! I'll have to wear them all day at work, so I'm bound to get comments! I bet it wont be long before phrases like, "not a spring chicken anymore" and "age is catching up" and "old git" are used. Hmmmmm

I suppose I should be happy, it's just something else to spend money on!

I bought this a month or two ago and figured it was time to finally do a review on it. The Body Shop calls them Shimmer Cubes, simply another name for eye shadow. I thought they looked interesting so I had to get one to try them out.

First off, I have to say that I absolutely love these colors. They're all shades of brown and look great blended together which is easy to do with these Shimmer Cubes. To apply a stronger color to your lids simply use water on your brush to apply. There are also four other Cubes available, with colors ranging from blue and green to white and red.

As the name implies, there is some Shimmer in them. I'm really cautious when it comes to anything that might look overly glittery or sparkly, but these have just the right amount to reflect the light but not look overdone.

I have a really tough time getting eyeshadow to stay where I want it on my lids, I don't know what it is, but I do everything I can to keep it where I put it but it always moves. My eyelids have it out for me I think. But I found this eyeshadow to stay put more than other ones that I've tried, which was a nice surprise. I still have to use a base, but even at the end of the night it still looks half decent.

I haven't used e.l.f. products before, but from what I've heard, they are pretty good for the price.  Almost everything is $1, including brushes, eye shadows, lipsticks, falsies, and more!

I work for the Facility Management office of a 25 story high-rise building in the Lake Merritt district of Downtown Oakland, California.  Twice a year we conduct Fire Drills and we always invite a crew from the Fire Department to come and observe.  Douche Bag always assigns a fire fighter to the staff members and today I got Jesse.

In the fourth and final segment of today's drills I was assigned to the fourth floor for observation where I saw an  old acquaintance of mine searching the floor for stragglers.  Her name is Connee and she's from Niagara Falls, NY.  I LOVE her.  She's a sweet little older lady who has always been very nice to me.  After searching and then evacuating the floor we met up in the park across the street where we waited for the announcement that it was time to return to the building.  I was chatting with her when Jesse returned to my side and she asked, "What's your name Mr. Gorgeous Blue Eyes?"

"Kevin."  Jessey answered.  "Just kidding.  I'm Jesse."

Connee laughed.  "Oh I thought you were going to tell me you both had the same name."

"Wait," I said.  "Does that mean I have Gorgeous blue eyes, too? --  Never mind."

"Yep.  That's what I was saying." He replied.

Now you see, this is where I fall short as a "newly" gay man.  This guy was cute.  I liked him.  I'd have been interested in talking to him more.  But I never thought he was gay.  Still don't know that he is.  But here's what his comment suggests to me.  He thought I had nice eyes.  Had been thinking it all along, and Connee gave him an opportunity to bring it up and see what happens.  But because I'm insecure, and an idiot nothing happened.  I don't know how to react in a situation like that?

So I'm looking for advice.  What should I have done?  And I'm seriously asking, so no smart ass, "You shoulda jumped on top of him" kind of responses.  How could have I have conveyed to him that I was interested without making the scene crunchy if I had misinterpreted his statement?

What, Mr. Reader, would you have done?

"MANZANITAS FOR BOLSITAS EYE-FACIAL"

Manzanas are great for those persistent eye-bags. If you've been partying a little too hard, and your eye bags are starting to show it, try this eye-facial:

1. I like to take a 1/4 slice of apple, blend it with un poquito de agua until it becomes a puree.

2. Apply a bit of puree directly under and around the eye area

3. Leave on for at least 30 minutes (40-45 is best), and then rinse off

4. Follow with your favorite eye moisturizer (I really like Clinique's Eyes'- get it cheap on Ebay!), but natural oils are great too, you can get these at your local Sav-on or Walgreens and they're fairly cheap (under $3)!

If you're a Latina on the go, this quick "Tea Bag Eye-Facial" also works great for me:

Get ahold of some manzanilla/chamomille tea. Make yourself a nice hot cup of tea, which is great during that time of the month-- and then use the tea bag(s) to give yourself a quick eye-facial.

Simply dab and press the tea bag around your eye area (especially under your eyes), and keep doing it on-and-off for 10-15 minutes-- just about as long as it takes you to drink your tesito, anyway ;)

If you're a tanned Latina, chances are that you may suffer from under-eye bags, puffiness and other related problems more than others.

I get complimented about my skin often, and I've even been luckily coined a "come años," by my tias and primos, being that I'm almost 30 years old and can easily pass for a teenager!

Unfortunately, I've also inherited my father's eye-area deficiencies. My father has huge under eye bags and dark circles. If this runs in your family, chances are you may need to provide extra care to your under-eye area pronto, before genetics catch up to you.

If you're skin is the thinnest around your eye area this also lends itself to making under eye circles more noticeable. Sure, there are some makeup tricks that you can do that can help you disguise this, but I realized a long time ago that skin related problems are better handled from the inside out.

There are some simple things that you can do that I would like to share with you. Above, I have highlighted some of my favorite under-eye facials that have worked for me with some good results, but first, as I mentioned to you already-- es importante que te cuides esas bolsitas desde adentro! What does this mean?

Not getting enough sleep, getting too much sleep, eating a salty diet, and not getting enough water can make a huge difference for this problem area! I recommend the following:

1. Drink plenty of water
Get yourself a 1.5 liter bottle at your local grocery store and drink it throughout the day, re-fill for the next day... everyday for the rest of your life! :)
2. Cut back on your salt consumption.
Salt retains liquid, and this will often show under your ojitos! Latinos are infamous for garnishing their foods even before we give them a probadita! Since I cut back on salt, I've noticed that food without salt tastes even better, so don't be afraid to give it a try!
3. Watch your sleep.
A stunningly beautiful Japanese aesthetician once told me that she makes sure to fall asleep before 11pm, and wakes up before 8am, everyday. When I asked her why, she explained to me that our "beauty cells" work only during those hours. I found this hard to believe, but after some thorough research, I found out that we do have "beauty cells" and they are most effective during those hours... ever wondered where the term "beauty sleep" came from? ;)
4. Massage the eye area, gently.
Massaging the eye area with some olive oil, or any oil you like will help stimulate the under-eye cells. Remember that this skin is the most sensitive, so massage gently. I like to massage in small circles all around my eye area, and follow up with some gentle taps.

After you've taken the above steps into high consideration, try one of the eye-facials that I recommended above :)

This past Friday the moon, according to the lunar calendar, was approximately three-quarters full. Unfortunately for me I saw it at one and a quarter. How is that possible? Obviously, the moon can’t be more than full but things out of our hands can make it seem as such.

It was around the 8 o’clock hour Friday night when the wife and I decided to wander outside to have a smoke. I followed behind her as Fandango led the way. Luckily, Little Harry was holed up in his bedroom and was not privy to the disaster about to befall us. With our pooch’s nose squarely pressed against the glass and The School Girl’s grip firmly on the handle I gazed wide-eyed through the door. Instantly, I grimaced, threw up in my mouth a little bit and stopped her from advancing.

“Let’s go out the back door,” I exclaimed, shuddering.

There was a look of confusion on my wife’s face but she acquiesced and we made our way through the house towards the back door and the somewhat hidden yard beyond. It was at this juncture that I had to explain my actions.

For this to make a little sense to all of you I will have to rewind a tad. The house directly across the street from us is a rental. It has been that way for a couple of years now ever since one of the Mrs. Georges moved into assisted living. You see, the house directly across and the one just to the left of that had been occupied by two totally unrelated Mrs. Georges since the mid-60s. Interesting right? Anyway, to continue:

The rental house has recently just been rented to a young man and possibly one or two other people. Lately a woman, possibly in her late 20s has been visiting to the point of moving in. I have not bothered to meet these people as I assume that they will not be there for any length of time. Well this woman is a tad bit on the chunky side. I can say that being an overweight guy myself and it appears from that distance that she has me beat by almost a big bill (100 lbs.).

For one reason or another this lady found the ever increasing hour of the night, during severe darkness, to be the perfect time to set out Halloween decorations. Among the items were several un-scary things that were set on the porch as well as little creepy ghost-like figures that were displayed along the front walkway. It was at the moment of the final placement, near the street and the mailbox, that we happened upon our front door. This girl, wearing loose, baggy pants, proceeded to bend completely at the waist at which point the waist band failed her and her breeches slid ever so quickly towards earth exposing at least half of her bare, white buttocks!

Some people would be quick to grab their waistband and help defy gravity; however, this lady was not so shy. She was sure to place her item in its proper place before rescuing us all from the frightening sideways smile that was her butt-crack. Luckily, this image did not become burned into my eyes or ingrained into my brain. I think if our neighbors are still here at Christmas time, I will buy her a belt.

The ink goes almost unnoticed but certainly adds a dimension unlike anything I've ever seen in the glasses industry (outside of kids toys). I want a pair...
