Navegando ayer por internet, me topé con esta estupenda funda totalmente transparente y que permite el uso del iPhone sin nigún problema.

Sin pensarmelo, busqué la página donde poder adquirirla, y en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, hize el encargo.

Es realmente práctica pues tiene un par de bolsillos para guardar cosas, un mosqueton para engancharla donde quieras y te dan un cordon por si quieres colgartela al cuello. Además cumple perfectamente su función: que mi preciado iPhone no se ralle con todos los trastos que tengo metidos en el bolso. La única desventaja es que no parece que vaya a protegerlo demasiado de los golpes pero por lo que me han comentado las fundas rígidas tampoco ofrecen una gran protección.

Por casualidades de la vida, resulta que la mochila de mi portátil es de la misma marca y tiene un diseño muy alegre y singular, aunque por suerte para algunos no todos los diseños son igual de atrevidos, también tiene cosas más austeras.

The above two ads are for the newly launched Virgin Mobile in India :) . I must say both of them are really classics and the advertising group behind them must be given a pat on the back. I watched these two movies a few days ago and I must say I wish I it had a third part. What a wonderful way to make a movie? Just a conversation but a conversation which has the power to keep the audience interested forever. The first part was great and probably the second part was even better. So what do you think happened in the end of 2nd part? Did he miss his plane? Did they settle down together? What happened? I guess the answer also reflects your personality type somehow ;)

I must say a few things about the movie. First of all I just loved Julie Delphy in both the movies. I don't know why but I just did :). Secondly the whole concept seemed really amazing. It does happen, you meet strangers and you just make a connection. With strangers it is easier to be truthful since you know you are meeting them just once and they have realistically no chance of affecting your real life :). I guess thats what happened in the first part. The second part was more of a continuation of how things went. I really wonder if the part in the cab was true or just a normal crib. Were they really so much into each other that they are unable to find happiness in their lives or were they unhappy and when they met they were just looking for a reason to blame. I guess I will never find this out. I guess I will always remember some of the quotes of this movie, they actually showed me a different way of life ;). Este modelo es de Timbag y vemos que además de ser bastante bonito y con unos colores muy acordes con la estética del iMac. Disponen de modelos para 20" y para 24". El de 20" está por 130€.

La empresa iLugger, no es ofrece no solo un modelo, sino varios y con colores de lo más variados para escoger por 109$, lo que no está mal si haces el cambio a euros, no el cambio que hace Apple que conste...

Los chicos de Pelican nos ofrecen por 495$ un auténtico bunker para tu iMac, para que vaya bien seguro y recogidico en esta funda, que más bien parece un tanque. Aviso, debe pesar lo suyo.

Hay muchas otras marcas que ofrecen la posibilidad de llevarte el iMac sin peligro a cualquier lado, pero yo me quedo con la de mi colega de blogroll The Mac Punk, eso es sentir el peligro ;)

यह घटना ठीक एक साल पहले घटी थी। उस महिला की मौत अगले दिन हो गई। ई-मेल में लिखी बात किसी और के लिए थी, मगर वह इस विधवा पर लागु है गई थी। फंडा यह है की आधुनिक वैज्ञानिक युग ने आदमी की सहूलियत के लिए बहुत संसाधन दिए हैं- जैसे की कंप्यूटर और इंटरनेट लेकिन इनके साइड इफेक्ट भी हैं, जिनसे हमें सावधान रहना चाहिऐ। उदाहरण के लिए अपने ई-मेल पते पर आये अवांछित संदेशों को सावधानी से देखें की ये आपके लिए है या नहीं? अगर है , तो किसी परिचित के हैं या गैर के। गैर के हैं तो इनका मकसद क्या है , आदि-आदि। उक्त महिला ने बगैर सच्चाई जाने दूसरे के ई-मेल को अपना समझ लिया। जिसका नतीजा उसे भुगतना पड़ा।

Economics can tell you things which you never really imagined. If you talk to most middle class people in India (yes my and your families) then they will always crib about how the tax in India is very high, how at one point tax rates were as high as 90-95% and a lot of stuff. If you talk to an employed person today then he will say that Government is taxing him so much and others are getting away with black money quite easily (even I used to think that way). But the picture above shows a completely different scenario.

1. The Direct Tax's contribution to GDP has almost been constant since independence  (around 2.5%) and only since 2000 has it increased slightly (to around 5%)
2. The Indirect Tax has been moving up and is a very major contribution to Government earnings. It contributed around 4% in 1950s and is now at around 12%.

What does this imply?  Simply put you and me are not paying much because of tax but each and every citizen of India is paying extra through indirect taxes, this includes the people below poverty line as even when they purchase some food it will a share of indirect tax.

It is expected that the taxation system will take more money from the rich and less from the poor, right? In India that is not really happening too a big extent. Everyone is paying a lot because people avoid direct tax by black money methods => the result is when Government needs extra money, it simply adds another indirect tax.

Just a thought which made me think a lot and deserves a spot on my blog :)

So which direction do you see her moving? Clockwise or Anti-Clockwise?  According to HeraldSun, if you see her moving clockwise then you use more of Right Part of your brain and vice-versa. You can ofcourse refocus and change the direction. Quite fascinating!

FC Braşov a obţinut, marţi seara, semnătura fundaşului Gloriei Bistriţa, Octavian Abrudan.

Aflat în ultimele şase luni de contract cu Gloria, Abrudan a semnat un contract pe patru sezone, cu FC Braşov, care va intra în vigoare din vară. „Abrudan a semnat contractul cu FC Braşov. Este un fundaş de 23 de ani, care a jucat în ultimii doi ani în prima ligă. Vom încerca să discutăm cu cei de la Gloria Bistriţa pentru a-l putea transfera încă din această iarnă. Dacă nu vom ajunge la o înţelegere, Abrudan va veni la Braşov doar din vară“, a spus Dinu Gheorghe, preşedintele executiv al FC Braşov.

Abrudan este al doilea transfer reuşit de FC Braşov în aceată iarnă, după cel al brazilianului „Fabinho“ de la Anorthosis.

Taare Zameen Par is a rare movie. In this present world of bollywood with item songs, skin show who wants to show reality, I am glad to say there is one person Aamir Khan.

The story, the acting, the reactions everything is so close to life. In India children are supposed to live with books. Studying, getting marks, excelling everywhere is what is taught to you by the world around you. The system is so absurd that it fails to recognize a problem like dyslexia, that is how trained our teachers are and the level of attention they give to their students?

The story moved me as well. In this struggle I also started giving all importance to Marks/Grades, well there is more to life than that. Some people are good at it, some are not. You don't have to be sad if you are not getting marks, maybe you want something else in life, maybe you will be a great painter ;)

In the end, my review is that it is a Must Must Must Watch!

A mi me costó decidirme a la hora de comprar una funda p'al mac, y aunque al final opté por una larobe en blanco y negro, como el yin yang, que es una pocholada.
Lo bueno: su funda es acolchada y protege realmente bien el ordenador, además de un diseño moderno y colorista.
Lo malo: lo poco blanco que tiene se mancha una barbaridad.

Como os decía descubrí recientemente las fundas de vaxbarcelona y aunque no las he probado, si me tientan mucho.

Vienen con sistema de amortiguación de golpes y bolsillos interiores para que guardes tus gadgets más pequeños.

Quizá me de el caprichín más adelante.

Seguro que a muchos Papá Noel os ha dejado un iPod debajo del árbol de Navidad. Y estoy convencido que estáis encantados con lo bonito que es y lo mucho que luce. Bueno pues atención: Ojito con las rayaduras. Recuerdo cuando me llegó mi Nano 3g de color negro. Precioso. Bueno pues al tercer día ya estaba buscándole una funda porque la parte trasera estaba empezando a perder lustre. Y es que es una pena que los hagan tan bonitos pero tan dados a rayarse. El caso es que tuve que gastarme 10 euretes y comprar una funda trasparente que no oculta el iPod pero lo mantiene seguro. Hoy en día podéis encontrar fundas de todo tipo y para todos los iPod, aquí podéis ver algunos ejemplos:

Para mi gusto las trasparentes son las mejores.

Las de calcetín no me gustan pero tienen su público.

Las de piel son las más feas pero si quieres tener un iPod para toda la vida son las tuyas.

Las de silicona tampoco son un dechado de belleza pero son útiles.

También las tienes para el sufrido shuffle

Esta es para los flipadetes de los coches.

Y para los niños, que nunca está mal por si se les cae.

Gustos para todos los tipos. Yo desde luego os recomiendo, eso sí, no dejar vuestro gadget como Jobs lo trajo al mundo, con una funda mejor que mejor.

Ya estaban tardando. Y es que Marware ha sido el primero en lanzarse a la piscina con las nueva funda para iPod Classic y touch. La funda en sí es una estupenda “tres-en-uno” que permite utilizarla como funda de brazo, funda de cinturón o como funda protectora simplemente.

Fabricada en piel de Nappa y con cierre magnético, la nueva funda de Marware, hará furor entre tus amistades acompñada de tu recién estrenado iPod Classic o tu, a punto de ser estrenable, iPod touch.

Y es que además dispone de acceso directo tanto a la clavija de auriculares (como era de esperar) como al botón de apagado/encendido y trae de serie una capa de protección de pantalla de micro-fibra para no estropear el iPod touch. Aunque aún no se sabe fecha de lanzamiento sí que se sabe que esta funda podrá ser tuya por sólo 30US$ (unos 21,31€).

Así que una mejor solución es hacer rápidamente una funda con una hoja de papel para guardar el cd, de esta forma lo protegemos y evitamos que ande de un lado a otro maltratándose. Aquí esta el video de cómo hacerla.

Giving a start to this new blog. 

CAT 2005 Exam:
The funniest thing happened during the exam, I wanted to start my watch so that it starts at 12 and I can measure the time precisely. The exam started and I forgot to start my watch. After 10-12 minutes I realized my mistake and started my watch and started rushing through the questions. I gave too much time to the English Section and barely gave enough time to Quant and Data Interpretation. When I came out of the exam I scored something in 50s. I attempted around 34 marks in English and scored around 24, I attempted 17 marks in Quant and scored 15.66 marks, and I attempted 17 marks in DI and scored 15 or something in it. Most coaching institutes told me not to have too much hope for callsII.

IIM Interviews 2005:
I scored 99.45 percentile and got interview calls from all the IIMs. I remember little details but I will try and capture them here.  The IIM Calcutta interview was the worst. They asked me about my favorite course, I said algorithms. They asked me what NP Complete is and I did not answer it correctly. Moreover I argued that I was correct. The professor told me to go and read my books again. IIM Kozikode was a funny experience and in the end I told them that I do not want admission at IIM Kozikode. IIM Ahemdabad was again okay. In IIM Bangalore we started discussing about India and I said that in India things happen by chance and are not planned. It was a nice hot discussion. IIM Lucknow was also quite decent. In the end I was not expecting anything from IIM Calcutta and quite hopeful from IIM Bangalore and Calcutta. The result was that I got through IIM Calcutta and Lucknow and did not get through others. Quite Funny.

I did not join IIM since I wanted to work (and at that time I was supposed to go to US). However that is a different story.

Preparation 2006:
I was almost in no mood to give CAT. But since some friends were going to get the form I also asked them to get the form for me. I remember while filling up the form my mom asked me why am I filling the form but the person I am I just said just in case (I know I do have some OCD)

Exam 2006:
This time I did not take any coaching. Did not take any practice tests basically did nothing. In fact I landed back from US on 18^th November at 2 a.m. in the morning. I came home and slept, ate a lot of Indian food on 18^th and went to exam on 19^th. I think I was somewhat jetlagged. I also felt really funny and stupid while giving the exam having cleared it once. I don’t know how it happened but I did pretty well. I scored well in almost all the sections.

Interviews 2006:
I scored 99.56 percentile and got interview calls from all IIMs again. This time the interviews were much more interesting. At IIM Bangalore they asked me a lot of things, few of them I remember. They asked me that "I want to enter management now leaving technical side, how can they be sure that I will not leave management later?" I just could not think of any answer and in the end I blurted what was coming in my mind that "There is not guarantee, in fact most probably I will leave management as well after 10-15 years as after that I should have enough money and would like to work for an NGO after that." They also asked me "How do I justify government funding on my IIT education since I am leaving it now?" Again I was stumped and I became philosophical and said that "Nobody said life would be fair, IIT has an exam and on that day I scored more marks and was able to get in and there is no guarantee that another person would not make the same choices as I have made." I did not expect to get selected at IIM Bangalore. In the IIM Calcutta interview they asked me why I did not join last year. I was able to convince them well. Overall a nice interview. IIM Ahemdabad was quite interesting. The professor quized me over testing and quality assurance. I explained what I had learned in the past one year. They asked me about my thesis project on having automated surveillance. They asked me why it was required and I said that because humans are expensive and can make more mistakes. At the end of the interview they asked me that I said machines are better since humans make more mistakes but a software is also written by humans and hence can have errors right? and I answered that because of this we have testing and quality assurance teams. We all smiled. IIM Lucknow was okay again. The result was that I got through IIM Bangalore, Calcutta and Lucknow.

This time I also got an H1b with my company but somehow going to US did not feel right and hence I am joining IIM Calcutta ( I know I am terribly confused person).

This has been my rendezvous with CAT. Overall a great experience. My advice to others, don’t study too much for CAT written test. If you study too much then you get tensed and that makes things worse. If you don’t study then no tension and better performance. IIM Interviews are a completely different story. Prepare every portion of your life, specially college life and academics, and try and have a good reasoning of why you want to do an MBA. Most of all don’t lie, always say the truth because I feel when you say the truth then you say it with full confidence and that makes an impression on people. Be truthful, be confident, and go bell the CAT.
