The image of Lord Shiva has always fascinated me. I grew up watching posters of Shiva all around me

The image of Lord Shiva has always fascinated me. I grew up watching posters of Shiva all around me - striking various poses but mostly closed eyes - and listening to songs from numerous T-Series albums praising the lord with songs based on tunes copied from top hindi movie numbers. Hence, my knowledge about Shiva was essentially a collection of tid bits learnt over a period of time from movies and TV. A god with Three eyes, the opening of the third one resulting in large scale destruction, father of Ganesha and so on.

To satisfy my increasing curiosity, I headed to Crosswords a few weeks back and with the help of Santhosh managed to find a couple of books that looked like they could answer my questions. Devdutt Pattanaik's Shiva to Shankara - Decoding the Phallic Symbol is one of them.

The book is essentially a collection of short stories and accompanying observations by the author to understand and make sense of the overtly sexual connotations associated with Shiva. And it succeeds to a great extent in making its point. It also succeeds, partly, in uncovering the 'censored' version of Shiva that we are made to see by the powers that be in today's India that is full of elders and self-proclaimed teachers stubbornly averse to the sexual and erotic side of Hinduism. The short stories and extensive use of illustrations make a book fast read and easy to understand as well. This makes it a good reference book. For example, Shiva's detachment from the world and the frustration it causes to Parvati is illustrated in a small folklore passed down the generations:

A House for Parvati

Parvati once begged Shiva to build her a house. "Why do we need a house?" Shiva wondered. In summer when it is hot, I sit under the shade of the Banyan tree. In winter, when it is cold I warm myself in the crematorium beside funeral pyres. In the rainy season, I simply fly and sit on the clouds above the rain.

That said, the illustrations and stories mean that the book is rather short in length. It answers a lot of questions but the curiosity does not die down. So, I look forward to read more books on this weed smoking, chilled out, maverick and mystical lord of Hinduism.

Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganesha festival is a day on which Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parva

Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganesha festival is a day on which Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati, is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees. It is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha and is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhaadrapada, starting on the shukla chaturthi (fourth day of waxing moon period). Typically the day falls sometime between August and September. Ganesha, the elephant headed son of Shiva and Parvati, is widely worshipped as the supreme god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.

While celebrated all over India, it is most elaborately celebrated in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, and other areas which were former states of the Maratha Empire. Outside India, it is celebrated by Newars in Nepal and Tamil Hindus in Sri Lanka

Legends of Ganesh Chaturthi

According to the legend, Lord Shiva, the Hindu God of resolution, was away meditating on Mount Kailash.

[caption id="attachment_214" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Ganesha Symbollism"][/caption]

His wife Parvati wanted to bathe and having no one to guard the door to her house, conceived the idea of creating a son who could guard at the door. Parvati created Ganesha out of the sandalwood paste that she used for bath and breathed life into it. She instructed Ganesha not to allow anyone to enter.

Meanwhile, Lord Shiva returned but since Ganesha didnot know him as yet, he prevented him from entering Parvati's Chamber. Shiva was enraged and sent most powerful Gods to fight against Ganesha. But Ganesha defeated all of them. The only way Ganesh could be defeated was by death. Finally Lord Shiva beheaded Ganesha with his magnificient trident.

When Parvati emerged, she found Ganesh dead. Parvati flew into a rage and took the form of Goddess Kali and threatened to destroy the entire world. She destroyed everything in her path and finally stopped when Lord Shiva pretended to die.

She was still in a dangerous mood and Shiva in an attempt to pacify her, instructed the shiv ganas to bring the head of the first living thing that they would find. The first living thing that the ganas came across was an elephant. They beheaded the elephant and brought back the head. Lord Shiva placed the head on the trun of Parvati's son and breathed life into him. Parvati was overjoyed and hugged her son, the elephant headed boy whom Lord Shiva named Ganesha, or the Lord of his ganas. Parvati was still upset and so shiva annouced that whoever worships Ganesha before any other form of God is favored. So Ganesha is worshipped first in all Hindu Occasions and festivals.

Another most popular legend found in Skanda Purana says, once Ganesha was invited for a feast in Chandralok. The god, known for his ravenous appetite, stuffed himself with laddoos. When he got up to walk after the meal, he could not balance because of his huge stomach and stumbled. As he fell, his stomach burst and all the laddoos came rolling out. The moon could not contain himself and began laughing. Enraged, Ganesha cursed the moon, causing him to vanish from the universe. However because of the moon's absence, the whole world began to wane. So the gods asked Shiva to persuade Ganesha to relent. The moon also apologized for his misbehaviour. On Shiva's intervention, Ganesha modified his curse. He announced that the moon would be invisible on only one day of a month and would be partially seen for the Ganesha Utsav most part.

Lord Ganesha has many names. The main ones are Ganapati (Lord of the tribe or attendants), Vighnesvara (controller of all obstacles), Gajanana (elephant-faced), Gajadhipati (Lord of elephants), Lambkarn (long-eared), Lambodar (pendant-bellied) and Ekadant (having one tusk). Lord Ganesha is depicted with having four arms. These symbolize him as the universal ruler establishing four categories of beings -- firstly those who can live only in water, secondly those who can live in water and earth, thirdly those who can live only on earth and lastly those who can fly in the air. Moreover it is also Lord Ganesha who instituted the four castes and four Vedas.

The vehicle of Lord Ganesha is a mouse. As rats generally succeed in gnawing their way through every obstruction, the rat symbolizes this god's ability to destroy every obstacle. Being an elephant he passes through the thickest of wild growth in a forest, uproots and tears to smithereens the thickest trees hindering his path and fells out whatever comes in his way. While drilling holes like a mouse he can also slip through the narrowest of spaces and thickest of the walls. Moreover, the mouse is deemed to be the master of inside everything. The all-pervading Atman (soul) is the mouse that lives in the hole called Intellect, within the heart of every being. It hides itself behind the inscrutable shape of illusion.
The legend about Lord Ganesha having preference over all other gods establishes his sharpness of intellect. There was a keen competition amongst all gods to gain the first place of worship amongst the laity. It was decided that the god who would return first after traversing the whole universe shall be declared the winner. All gods and goddesses ran on their fast vehicles. Lord Ganesh with his pot-bellied body and mouse's vehicle could never hope to compete. He took a round of his parents, Shiva and Parvati, and just sat there at the starting point. He was declared the winner because one who goes round his parents and touches their feet traverses the whole universe. Since then Lord Ganesha is always worshipped first and every other god takes a back seat. Another legend says that when Parvati saw an elephant's head being fixed on her son's body, she burst into tears and could not be soothed. To pacify her Brahma announced that amongst the worship of all the gods, that of Lord Ganesha should forever bear the first preference.
Lord Ganesha has two wives, one named Siddhi (Success) and the other named Riddhi (Prosperity). Of course one who pleases the Lord automatically comes into the good books of his two wives!
As the Lord of Obstacles and the personification of those qualities which surmount all difficulties, Lord Ganesha is often honored at the outset of any project or test and consequently has become particularly popular with modern businessmen and students. He is the typical lord of success in life and its accompaniments of good living, prosperity and peace. In all ceremonies (except funeral rites) Lord Ganesha is first involked. He is revered by most Hindus, whether followers of Shiva or Vishnu.
Lord Ganesha represents the unity of the Small Being, the man, with the Great Being, the elephant.

History

In 1893, Lokmanya Tilak, an Indian nationalist, social reformer and freedom fighter reshaped the annual Ganesh festival from private family celebrations into a grand public event. It is interesting to note that the festival was not celebrated in a public manner until this time but was a family affair among Hindus, who used to celebrate it in a traditional manner.

Lokamanya Tilak visualized the cultural importance of this deity and popularised Ganesha Chaturthi as a National Festival "to bridge the gap between the Brahmins and the non-Brahmins and find an appropriate context in which to build a new grassroots unity between them" in his nationalistic strivings against the British in Maharashtra.

Tilak chose Ganesha as a rallying point for Indian protest against British rule because of his wide appeal as "the god for Everyman". It was an important festival during the Peshwa rule in Maharashtra, but acquired a more organized form all over India during the Swaraj movement (Freedom struggle).

Tilak was the first to install large public images of Ganesha in pavilions, and he established the practice of submerging all the public images on the tenth day. The festival facilitated community participation & involvement in the form of learned discourses, dance dramas, poetry recital, musical concerts, debates, etc. It served as a meeting ground for common people of all castes and communities, in a time when social & political gatherings were forbidden by the British Rule to exercise control over the population.

Ganesh Chaturthi Rituals

Before the ten-day ceremony begins, the household achieves an unmatched state of purity. Households and specially the place where the idol is to be placed, is cleaned and whitewashed. Ganesha idols that are newly molded are brought from the innumerable street-side shops, which come up especially during the festival. The idols of Lord Ganesha are carried with their faces covered with a saffron cloth amidst the chanting and sound of cymbals. And as the evening approaches, his idol is seated in a grandiose
manner in the puja room. He is installed as the supreme one who takes precedence over all others. This is called “Sthapana” when all the members of the household gather around the decorated altar. Then the priests perform a ritual by which the idol is said to be imbued with life. After that follows the traditional puja. The puja begins at the time designated. The ceremony begins by placing the image, usually made of terracotta, in a sacred arena. The worshiper then sips the holy water and performs the pranayama and bows against Ganesha and all the other gods. The Ganapati Aarti and devotional chanting are sung along with the cymbals, bells and clapping. The “modak” a sweet is offered to the deity along with the flowers. This completes the ritual of the first day.

For the remaining days, the idol is worshiped with simple recitations of the devotional songs, offering of flowers and lamps.

After the ten days of worship, the god returns to his heavenly abode and his image is immersed in the water. This is known as visarjan (immersion). All the people join the final procession to the ghats of a river or the ocean in Mumbai and other coastal areas. Shouts of 'Ganapati bappa Morya, Pudchya varshi laukariya' (beloved Ganesha, Lord of Morya, come again early next year) echo all over.

The event is now a massive celebration and is perhaps the world’s largest religion-inspired party. Trucks carry the huge idols of Ganapatis on roads while the devotees carry a red colored called gulal to shower on each other.

Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi

The significance of Ganesh Chaturthi lies in the way people attach themselves with all their love and faith to the care and pampering of the all-embracing Lord Ganesha. Throughout the festival, people worship the ‘ashtavinayakas’ referred to the eight embodiments of Lord Ganesha that played the role of abolishing the evil powers of the demonic elements that existed in the world. The popular Mayureshwara was that divine incarnation of Lord Ganesha that put an end to the evil and harm inflicted by the demon called Sindhu by destroying him completely. This symbolizes the victory of the good over the evil. And also, there lies a message that Lord Ganesha always comes to abolish the villains in every period and every age, adding to the importance of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The significance of Ganesh Chaturthi can be felt in the wish of the people who lovingly bring the enchanting idols and perform all the required ceremonies and rituals in order to ensure the lively presence of the Lord Ganesha in the worshiped idol. The jubilation of the whole festival can be experienced while standing on the streets mainly of Maharashtra and other place located in the vicinity of sea area and beaches. There, the people gather and dance to the beats of while welcoming Ganpati to their homes and bid a farewell with the same kind of musical atmosphere.

The assembly of people takes the Lord Ganesha idols to the nearby water bodies in order to submerge the idols into the deep waters. It is believed the under the vast waters, there exists the home of Lord Ganesha, where he joins his family. And then to strengthen this belief Ganesha comes back again every year bringing the season of celebrations with the arrival of Ganesh Chaturthi. With this unflinching belief, there will always be happiness and blessings in the lives of the people during the entire, ameliorating the significance of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Another Monday Mantra...on Tuesday. Do you think the Universe is trying to tell me something? Honestly, I tried to carve out a bit of time yesterday for this post, but it just didn't happen. Mondays are always just so busy. But, I love it, because the Universe does have a sense of humour doesn't it? I mean, my thought on posting a mantra each Monday was that it is such a frenetic day we could all use something to give us a mindfulness break, and opportunity to shift focus, to regain steadiness and concentration...and then, I couldn't find time to do that. Hmmm... will have to work on that, for now here is a new mantra for you.

Om Namah Shivay (Aum Num-ha Shi-vi-ya)

Om Namah Shivay, is a mantra of transformation. It is an homage to Lord Shiva, the Hindu aspect of the Divine responsible for the transformation of the Universe. Sometimes referred to as the Destroyer, but in the cyclical Hindu world-view nothing is really ever destroyed so much as it is transformed, changed, or "reborn" into something new.So, one of the great and powerful uses of this mantra in personal practice is for transforming one energy into another. If you are feeling stuck in a certain mind state, Om Namah Shivya; if you are feeling tired and need to build some energy, Om Namah Shivya; if you are feeling stricken with grief that is weighing you down like an anvil on your chest...Om Namah Shivya.

It is critical that you say the mantra, out loud or in your mind, with the greatest intention, but be aware that the mantra will do it's own work after that. You may not feel that it is working, you may even feel it is making things worse, or just a lot of resistence or anger towards it; these are always good clues that the mantra is doing its work. Stick with it awhile.

Shiva, whos mantra this is, is also the symbol of the inner self that is left intact after everything else has been consumed, so in speaking it the chanter is bowing to her inner shelf.

Let this mantra vibrate in your heart.

May it bring you great transformation, a returning to that which you already are.
Abide in Peace.

Chanting of this sacred mantra from Krishna Das

I Have An Amazing Dream (Swayembu)

It was the spring of 1996, shortly after I had started out on the yoga path. I was a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, a Ph.d. student in Religious Studies. One night, sleeping in my apartment off campus, I had a dream that still seems highly significant. The first thing I recalled from the dream was that I was standing in a line of people to receive darshan (a Sanskrit word roughly translated as "a blessing from a master"), but it wasn't from a woman (I had been receiving darshan from all women masters), it was a man, and not an Indian-looking man, but a black man, tall and of good build with a short 'fro. But that's all of what I recall from that part. So the scene changes, and suddenly I'm sitting on the other side of a table across from this same man, what seemed to be a little bit later in the evening.

And the man, eyes atwinkle, says to me, "Alan, do you remember..." and then he starts speaking in this weird language. The funny thing is that I completely recognize the language, and my entire body immediately gets wildly giddy with excitement. You've had dreams when your body goes through some kind of physiological change, like when you have a bad dream? Your heart goes a thumpety-thump-thump? Well, have you ever had a dream where every part of your body becomes like giddy with bliss? That's what happened -- my body was blissed out, not only in the dream, but right there in the bed. I was so excited when he started talking to me in that crazy language, and I had no idea what it was, but at the same time I completely remembered it and him, and it was like I was coming home to a part of me that was lost to my consciousness.

So in the morning I awake, and of course I've completely forgotten the dream. I start thinking about the day and, you know, gotta take care of business, and whatever. But as I'm doing my bathroom thing and getting ready to go out, suddenly I notice there's this word that's been in my mind and vying for my attention, if I would only tune in.

Have you ever had a word in your mind, and it seems so familiar that you don't even recognize it's there, but if you would only stop and think for a second, you would have to ask yourself: "Where did this word suddenly come from? Why am I thinking this?" Actually, this happens all the time, but we usually don't tune in, and people who work on developing their psychic/intuitive faculties have this experience all the time.

So anyway, there's this word that has been patiently sitting there in the back of my mind for some time: "Swayembu, Swayembu, Swayembu," it keeps repeating. Suddenly, I recall the dream I had during the night, and I put two and two together: Okay, this must be one of the words that this man was saying to me. Sounded African to me, which would make sense since this guy had appeared to be of African heritage. So I figured that that's what he must have been speaking in the dream -- some kind of African language. I must have known him from a past life.

So later I'm telling Lila (my mentor at the time) about my dream, and when I get to the part about "Swayembu," she excitedly says: "Swayembu?! That's something very sacred to Lord Shiva!" Lila was really into Shiva, you have to understand, so this was for her an auspicious sign. She didn't really explain what "Swayembu" was at that point, but I was soon to learn more about it from another source...

Here's where the story takes an even more mystifying turn. As it turns out, that weekend I was scheduled to go with the Sahaja Yoga people up to their newly purchased land in upstate New York where they were going to build an ashram. To make a long story short, one of the things we were going on this trip for was to be in the presence of these sacred rocks that were on the property. According to the Sahaja Yogis, some of the rocks on the property were these especially sacred rocks imbued with cosmic energy. These, they told me, are referred to as...guess what? Swayembus (note: also spelled "Swayambu" and "Swayambhu," because the Sanskrit can be transliterated different ways).

I was blown away, but I didn't say anything to anyone. I was still keeping a journal at that point, so I just put it all down in there, what was going on. Not sure if I still have that journal somewhere, don't think I do. But I do recall the bare bone essentials. Anyway, I call Lila and tell her, and she seems nonchalant about it: "Oh, you're just tapping into your natural psychic abilities." And yes, if you've developed your natural intuitive potential, that whole thing was run-of-the-mill, but you have to understand that for me at that time this was a big deal. The skeptic in me wondered, though: "Well, maybe I heard the Sahaja people using the word "Swayembu" the week before, it got stuck in my subconscious, and then it manifested in the dream? Simply put, I had heard the word and that's where it came from. That's possible, but it still didn't really explain the dream or why it had made me so blissed out. There was something more going on...

Well, to this day, I still haven't figured out exactly what was going on there, but I do have one idea, crazy as it may seem. The word "Swayambu" (or Swayembu) is a Sanskrit word meaning "self-born," and it usually refers to a uniquely-formed rock or natural symbol of the divine that manifests itself spontaneously, just appears out of nowhere. The Shiva lingam is a kind of Swayambu in that is not the product of natural evolution, but is a gift of Shiva himself.

In my personal mythology, there is this view of myself as a kind of Swayambu, as self-born. Because in my personal case, I have to wonder: Where did I come from? I am so different in some ways that other family members, and so unalike most of the people I grew up with. I had a burning desire for knowledge from a young age, and ended up going deep into philosophy, religion, and ultimately yoga.

Just to give you a little sense of what my path has been, here's a little snippet from a longer piece I've been writing on yoga and entheogens:

Until I was in my early twenties, I had no interest in drugs whatsoever. This was because at 14, I made a conscious decision that I wasn't going to do any mind-altering substance. The ironic thing was that a lot of my peers thought I was on drugs all the time, just because of the way I looked and acted. I had long hair, played the electric guitar, and apparently looked pretty freaky and out of it most of the time. That was just for a couple of years, though. Once I got into distance running, I began to look and act different. In a sense, distance running was my drug for many years, and I kind of prided myself on having this natural high and not having to use drugs to get my happy on. In fact, I became adamantly opposed to all drugs and alcohol. This was partly due to messages from my parents and the media, but also because I was becoming a control freak and purist who would never do anything that might make me do something crazy, or that would in some way damage my body or psyche (or take away from my athletic performance). It's interesting that the same year that I said "no" to drugs, I also: Quit the guitar and stopped listening to music; quit masturbating; stopped watching t.v.; started distance running; became radically antisocial (I stopped talking to even my closest friends, and never dated or partied); and decided -- no, swore -- I was never going to ever use another swear word ever again. Without knowing anything about Nietzsche, I was well on my way to becoming an ubermensch. I had chosen the ascetic path, and it was a path I more or less kept on for most of my adult life.

And there is a sense of being "self-born", too, in that growing up I never had a real teacher or mentor, I was just following the lead of the inner guru, tormenting as it was sometimes.

[Note: Here is some more about Swayambus...

There are 14 Manvantar's in each Kalpa. Each Manvantar (a period of 31,104,000 years) is started by a Manu. The current Manvantar is the seventh Manvantar. This Manvantar was started by Vaivasvat Manu. Our history records 6 earlier Manu's as: Swayambhu Manu, Swarochi Manu, Uttam Manu, Tamas Manu, Raiwat Manu, and Chakshush Manu.

****

TEMPLE FEATURES

The Lingam from Pralayakala

The presiding deity is a swayambu linga and the oldest among the 64 in the world. Even before the `pralayam' (deluge), this linga with `gnana sakthi' (Parvati) existed here. According to Agneya Purana, the linga was facing west when the Sun God offered his worship here. It is peculiar to see two Nandis here one behind the other, facing Vanchinathar in the sanctum sanctorum.

The Shiva Lingam in Sri Vanchiyam at the sanctum sanctorum is a "Swayambu (self-manifested)" one. It was in the shape of "Theyu" during Pralaya Kalam, "Rathnam" in Krudhayuga, "Golden" in Thredha Yuga, "Silver" in Dhwapara Yuga and "Stone" in Kaliyuga. This is stated in "Samboba puranam". Sri Agasthia Muni - came to South during the celestial marriage of Goddess Parvathi with Shiva, He came to Sri Vanchiyam via Vedaranyam, He spotted the Swayambu Lingam - according to this puranam.

The sanctity of this temple has been described in Brahmandam, Skandam, Samboban and Agneya Puranas.

Six places on the banks of the river Cauvery are said to be the most sacred and equivalent to Varanasi: Thiruvengadu, Tiruvaiyaru, Sayavanam, Mayuram, Tiruvidaimarudur and Srivanchiyam. Out of these, Srivanchiyam is "one-sixteenth" more sacred than Kasi (Varanasi). Lord Shiva is said have told Parvati that He loves this place the most.]

Shastras order the use of rudraksha, the beads in the prayer string of beads (Mala). Rudraksha is fruit of the tree of the same name. The berry like fruits of the tree dry up into rudraksha bead of dark brownish colour. Its size is equal to that of black berry but rudraksha is round shaped which makes it a perfect string bead.

Teej has been a delightful festival for me since my childhood days when mom would dress me up in beautiful lehenga and anklets. All the elders in the family gave us neg to get mehendi, bangles and bindis. The markets in the Delhi looked so alive and shimmering with the bangle stores and the long queues for the mehendiwallah who have their best time starting from teej to wedding season ending in February (barring only the shraadh period where business gets dull)

I am a huge fan of anklets..I have more than 30 pairs of them- some with stones, some with naqashi work and some which weigh more than 750 gms in all (yes my bridal anklet).

And today is my first significant teej- my first one after wedding and it holds a special place in my heart. I am missing out on the fervour back home- where my moms have got presents for me-jewellery,clothes,bangles, mehendis and so many blessings. I am missing out getting mehendi done while bargaining to get rate of Rs.50 per hand. I am missing eating the shopkeepers head to get my bangles matched perfectly as I want. I am missing looking at the sweet shops overflowing with ghevar, pheni, matthi, namakpaare and offcourse people.

Last year was also good as it was my first teej after engagement- so I packed all the gifts for my mom and also wrote a small couplet as I was mising my fiance who was in Auckland that time -

Rimjhim rimjhim saawan aaya,

Saawan upar lage ri jhadi,

Jo Ghar hote Shaam hamare-hum bhee jhoole dalvave re sakhi

I miss the yesteryears when dad would make a swing for us in the aangan and we would take turns.

Teej is festival which marks the reunion of Maa Parvati and Lord Shiva after hundred years of separtion. This day young girls pray for a good husbnd by doing Shiv ji pooja. Married girls pray for their husband's long life, wellness and togetherness. (Reema/Poonam/Sakhi- Please don't get an idea to write about how biased we Indians are as we have fasts and rituals for only males' well being -LOLZ) :D

I have a fast today on Teej and I am celebrating it with all my little efforts I can manage here in foreign land. Well for starters - my mom in law (such a sweetheart she is) asked me to go for shopping and empty my hubby's pockets - which I did on Sunday....I got mehendi on my hands- On my right hand I created my childish drawings and wrote my hubby's name in hindi...now for my other hand I called SOS and my hubby came to the rescue- he did his own Modern Art which even he can't comprehend!!! He also wrote my name in hindi..so my mehendi was done with the sweetest gesture! This morning on the D-Day I wore a cream and golden suit to work and some pearl jewellery my moms gave me......The Kiwis are going gaga over me (I am writing this in lunch time)...-Compliments include - Gorgeous, Royal, Princess, Fairy, Elegant and so many more...(thanks Reema and Harshasrisri also for those lovely compliments earlier)........they are so much interested in the story behind the festival, my mehendi, my toe rings/anklets and sindoor I am wearing.

[caption id="attachment_206" align="aligncenter" width="468" caption="For Sakhi- your wish is my command!!"][/caption]

Well evening festivities will include- Shiv ji and Parvati maa's prayers. It is important to use Kadhaai (wok???) today so I am gonna make Pooris, Gulgulas (doughnuts/malpuas like), Matar Mushroom and Shahi Paneer.

I am missing my moms who have pampered me every day and not just on Teej...I am missing the fervour, the delightful vibes and yes I am missing my homeland. (Ironical today I am applying for extension of Visa)

O Delhi- I miss you and the overcrowded markets...... :(
